-Kaname POV-

My alarm rang, and I groaned unhappily as I turned it off. I stayed up too late last night, arguing with Kakashi. Kakashi... I could feel my face heat up again when I thought of his looks. Surely it must be a crime to be so freaking handsome!

Grudgingly, I climbed out of bed and went to the bathroom for my morning routine. Twenty minutes later, I was in the kitchen, staring into the refrigerator.

"Hmm... How about an omelet and sausages for breakfast..? I'm going to train Naruto later, so I'll add in a glass of milk too..."

I was whisking the eggs when suddenly, Naruto burst in and hugged me tightly. Surprised, I put the bowl down and patted his back.

"You're real... I'm not dreaming..." I heard him whisper as he tightened his hug. My heart lurched. Exactly how much had Naruto gone through for him to feel so insecure?

"Daijyoubu. I'll always be here for you from now on." I hugged him back, and I could feel him nod. Then, I smelled something. Something burning.

"Ah!!! My sausages!!!" Chakra threads appeared at the tip of my fingers and proceeded to lower the fire and flip the sausages.

"Go... gomennasai..!" Naruto let go of me immediately, looking down at his feet. I sighed, then pulled him back in another hug with my free hand.

"It's fine, I hope you don't mind slightly-burnt sausages..." I said as I patted his back. "Now go wash up. Breakfast will be ready soon."

I planted a kiss on his forehead to show that I don't mind, and he blushed. So cute... I thought, then I shooed him out of the kitchen.

Five minutes later, we were seated at the dining table, and Naruto was prodding his omelet.

"You don't like it?" I asked. "I can make something else if you like."

"No, I like it." Naruto gave me a big toothy grin. "It's just that it's been a long time since I've had anything other than ramen or toast for breakfast."

"Ramen for breakfast..." I said weakly as I put a chunk of sausage in my mouth. "You really love ramen, don't you?"

"Ramen is the best thing in the world!" Naruto nodded, then stuffed half of the omelet in his mouth. "Nee-chan's cooking is the second best thing!"

I sighed. "I should've known..."

He grinned sheepishly, then started chomping on the sausages.

We finished our breakfast in silence, and Naruto went to change out of his pajamas while I washed the dishes.

"Oh, right, I almost forgot." I smacked my forehead lightly as Naruto wore his shoes. "Naruto, grab the door handle and insert your chakra."

"...... Huh..?" He crooked his head to the side, not understanding what I just told him to do.

"I changed the lock this morning," I explained as I put on my shoes. "Because I always have luck with burglars and the sort. I changed the lock to one that only opens when the owner inserts his or her chakra. My own little invention."

"I don't understand..." said Naruto blankly. I then placed my hand on the door handle and inserted my chakra. The handle glowed briefly, then the door opened.

"You open the door with your chakra instead of your key."

"Oh..." Naruto nodded, and his eyes lit up. "That's so cool! But wouldn't other people be able to get in too?"

"Which is why I have to register your chakra signature." I signaled for him to place his hand on the handle, and made a few one-handed seals quickly. "Just a bit will do."
