"Who's ready to go?" Kay exclaimed as she looked towards me and Yumi. I smiled at her before turning to Yumi.

"Want to go see what your surprise is?" I asked, getting an eager nod in return. Kay took that as a cue to start grabbing what we need to take to the car. After loading up the boot (trunk?) and am excited Yumi, Kay and I took our seats. Me in the passenger seat as Kay was adamant that she was to drive as she had got a new car that she wanted to show off.

It took about a 1 hour  drive to get to the zoo, which was filled with singing along with a Disney soundtrack that Yumi adored passionately. When she saw the zoo sign, which took her a minute to read, she was ecstatic, jumping in her seat. We all had large smiles on our faces, my small daughter's due to the excitement of seeing the animals and mine and Kay from her reaction.

We couldn't get out of the car quicker.

Yumi was practically bouncing out of her car seat. Her eagerness getting the best of all of us as we laughed at her antics. Through her excitement she babbled between English and Korean, leading to giggles from myself and Kay.

Once unbuckled and the pushchair unloaded, we made sure we had everything before making our way to the entrance. Due to it being a weekday the lines weren't as busy as usual however were still pretty packed. To combat the heat, I put sunscreen on myself and Yumi as well making sure her sun hat was on securely and grabbing my own. Kay had put on sunglasses but not a hat, saying she didn't want to ruin her hair which made me shake my head in exasperation and amusement. I handed Yumi a small pair of sunglasses that had a cute bear on and finally put my own on. After waiting for 30 minutes, where Yumi chattered excitedly from the pushchair, we paid to enter and made our way inside, ready to see all the animals

"Mumma, I get down pwease" Yumi asks pointing to the ground. I nod before unclipping the straps that held her safely in the pushchair. I picked her up and planted her softly onto the floor so she was now standing

"Okay sweetie, what animal first? We have giraffes, lions, monkeys-"

Kay was interrupted by an excited Yumi.

"Lion!" The little one squealed happily. We nodded and led the way, Kay controlling the pushchair and me holding Yumi's hand so she didn't run off and get lost. On the walk to the lion habitat, Yumi pointed out every little thing that caught her attention, from balloons decorating the zoo to the sign that had animals on.

"Mumma look, lion!" She exclaimed pointing at a poster taller than my (Your/Height) frame.

I patted her head with a smile.

"We'll be seeing the real thing in a second sweetie." I replied.

Her excitement obviously rose as she started tugging on my hand in order to get me to speed up, obviously not realising I was going slowly so her little legs could keep up.

Once we finally reached the lion habitat I let go of Yumi's hand so she could get closer to the glass separating her and the group of lions, whilst keeping a close eye on her. I watched as my daughter watched the animals intensely, as she did the male lion let out a yawn like roar making her jump before turning to me and roaring loudly and running at me as fast as she could (which wasn't very fast).

I pretended to run away, whilst keeping an eye on her, Kay was watching in amusement at our antics. Yumi caught me pretty quickly and began 'eating' me like a lion would which was extremely cute to see. To humor Yumi I let out fake cry's.
