twenty-nine; patient

With every tick of the clock, Scott was losing a bit of his patience.

He knew that watching the clock in front of him would only make the hands on it move slower, but he couldn't look anywhere else. Except for down at his phone, but then his eyes would only linger on the last text he sent.

Scott cursed himself out for getting ready so early. In an attempt to get his nerves to go away, he had gotten ready early, much earlier than he needed to be. In his defense, he didn't want to be late picking his date up. However, he also knew that leaving and getting to the house early wouldn't be the best either.

Scott glanced at the clock. Barely a minute had crept by.

He shouldn't have even been this nervous in the first place. On second thought, maybe he should've. This would be the first second date Scott had been on in nearly forever. And on top of that, Scott already liked the boy. A lot. He couldn't remember ever feeling this way about anyone, being so utterly drawn to and comfortable with someone so early on. It was nerve wracking yet utterly exhilarating.

Only another minute had passed when Scott finally snapped. Fuck patience, he thought, standing up from his spot on the couch. He grabbed his keys off of the coffee table, then headed for the front door. Right as he reached for the handle, his phone went off. He glanced down at it, and a second later, a smile was spreading across his face.

i know we planned on 6, but i'm ready if u want to come over now...

And with that, Scott knew that he and the boy were perfect for each other.
