When he was younger, maybe 10 or 11, Jeff realized that something wasn't right with him- he had psychopathy, he wasn't capable of caring. This confused him to no end, so he asked his parents about it. They didn't listen to him though, told him there was no way he couldn't not care for people. Jeff, depressed with this answer, started faking emotions, just so he wouldn't have to put up with their scoldings for 'acting inappropriately' even though he really couldn't help it.
(Can I just say: I struggle with getting my parents to listen to me too.)
