It took about seven rings before I sent my alarm clock flying across the room. The ringing quickly stopped as it crashed harshly on the floor. Who the hell set up my alarm clock at freaking six in the morning?

If I remember it correctly, I set it up quarter to seven last night. The answer came quickly just as the question did. Who else would have the guts to sneak in my room just to change my alarm? The one person who wouldn’t allow me to be late on my first day of school. In my new school. His school, of course.I would let it slip for now and settle things later with him. Sleep was more important. The silence of my room that was disturbed a moment ago was back and the only thing that was barely audible now was the soothing hum of the airconditioner.

I smiled and slump back under my covers. But the happy thought of going back to sleep was washed away by the loud consecutive knocks on my door. Followed by the familiar husky voice calling me out.

“Time to get up, sweetie! Breakfast is ready!” Tyler’s irritating cheerfulness woke the hell out of the remaining drowsiness in me. I groaned and cursed under my breath before I forced myself up. This guy really knew how to get on my nerves first thing in the morning.

“Heeeey, come on sweet heart! You don’t wanna be late for—“ Tyler started again but I opened the door just in time to stop his silly wake up call. I made sure I wore the most irritated expression I’ve ever had to greet him a good morning.

But despite all my efforts , I knew my grumpiness wouldn’t make Trevor feel bad the slightest bit. He was still wearing his genuine smile when I opened the door. “Hey babe! How’s your slee—”

“Babe your ass. Get the hell out of my way.”  I muttered as I shoved past him to head downstairs for breakfast. I was already heading towards the dining area when I heard him make a shock sound and said “Hey, you murdered your alarm clock again! Poor thing!” I guessed he already caught sight of the ‘poor thing’ lying on the floor in my room. I ignored his remark but I just couldn’t shake off the thought that he was more affected by the murdered alarm clock than the deadly look I gave him awhile ago.

I ate my breakfast quietly as Tyler threw me stupid questions in between. Who would answer such lame questions about the weather and the headlines of the newspaper he was reading?  But I knew Tyler enough to know that he was just using these stupid questions as introduction to a more serious conversation that was coming. The conversation I was trying to avoid for days since the day he informed me about my transfer.

“So…um, we were supposed to go to school together today so I changed your alarm last night. Sorry about that. I think you know that the school director is supposed to go to school early.” Tyler said as he lay down his newspaper on the table and focused his attention on me.

This is it. I thought.

“I know.” I answered blankly. I was not going to give in with the tensing atmosphere.

“Oh.” He raised an eyebrow at me. “You’re really gonna come today? I mean…I thought you---”

“I have no choice.” I said bitterly, shooting him a glare. “That’s why I’m coming.”

I couldn’t believe he was asking me that. Wasn’t he the one who insisted that I should continue my senior year in his school? In his disciplinary school. Of course, I was against it. I would go to any other school except Tyler’s and I made that clear last week when he first came up with the crazy idea of transfering me in his school. Well, I had a good reason why. Our family owned the school, Tyler’s the school director and my brother, put it all together and it would be a disaster.
