I ran and walk as I made my way to my first class, maneuovering through the crowded hallways of the Twin A building. It was the smaller building at the left of the mother building. The other on the right was called Twin B building. Twin Buildings and a Mother Building.
Funny names but it made sense.
I could sense the eyes on me as I passed by every group of students on my way but I didn’t really care. I was already late in my first class because of that damn elevator ride. Curse that boy with the bleeding lip. Hope he’d get stuck on his way up.
Checking on the school map every now and then, I continued to follow the route to the special section’s classroom. I was about to turn the corner when I heard something that caught my attention. I froze hearing their words clearly.
“Look! Someone’s going to the Hall of the devils!”
“Never saw her before. Think she’s just lost.”
“Probably don’t know where she’s goin’”
“Seriously? Another girl?”
“Well, maybe Miss Mister already needs a company in there.”
I turned and scowled at the group of students who were snickering behind me now. One of them raised an eyebrow at me and that’s my cue to approach the group. There were four of them. Three guys and a girl.
“Talking about me?” I bluntly asked. The group exchanged glances at each other before looking back at me with amused expressions.
The girl shrugged. “Who else?”
I smirked. “Well, don’t if I’m in the hearing range.”
“Who are you to tell us what to do?”
I’m the owner’s daughter, bitch. I thought to myself. But of course there’s no way in hell I would tell these guys. “I’m someone you don’t want to mess with.”
“Scary.” one of the boys butted in.
I turned to give him a sweet smile. “I am scary, indeed.”
“Kevin,” the other boy said. “Let her off now. She’s a newbie.”
“I won’t let her off just like that. Not just yet.” Kevin disagreed, narrowing his eyes on me. “You tell us first how you ended up in the special class.”
I grimaced. I sure wanted to know the reason as well. But how the hell would I know?
I opened my mouth to tell them I didn’t know but I was cutt off by the girl. “You didn’t seriously kidnap someone, or burned a building, did you? Or worse…” the group exchanged disgusted looks to each other before turning back towards me. “Had a murder case filed against you like someone in that class had? Oh no. This school doesn’t need another one of those---”
Kevin nudged her by the side, shaking his head in the process. Then he turned to me, a scowl on his face. “Time to go now, lil’ newbie. We’ll talk some other time.”
“What? But—“ the bitch complained but Kevin shot him a glare.
“Shut up. Let her be ignorant. She’ll deal with it sooner or later, anyway.”
I looked at them in disbelief. What the hell was all that about? They just got in my way to class, bully me and then let me off? And what the bitch was telling me about a second before Kevin cut her off, about what could have I done to be in the special class? I couldn’t even sink in the fact that she’d seriously asked me if I burned down a house or kidnapped someone. Weren’t that bit serious cases? Then I realized something. I really had to keep in mind that I was already in a McQuillen. Students here were famous for serious cases.
