The Lion

An untamed lion

Trapped inside a steel cage

Each time the deadly talons hit the steel bars

Mark the days she spend

To count the days the lion has left

The steel strong enough to keep the lion in

But weak enough to rip and weaken

As if it were gold

Some say they are beautiful

When they are the only ugly feature on the cage

They say the marks on the cage are to show that she is strong

The marks are to weaken not strengthen

Each sunny day

As the cage gets hot

The lion would put her paw on the hot steel

As if it was pulling her

The lion never knew what hurt the most

The pain on her paw

Or the empty shell she has become

For the lion is just to hurt to notice the burns and scares on her

Are the reason why she is in the void
