Hours later toward nightfall after having a day of security checking, standing and watching and then more standing, watching and security checking, I was glad when Obi-Wan left to go check on things downstairs.

I stood looking out the window, finally allowing my thoughts to drift, thinking about the dreams I kept having of my mother. Even though I hadn’t seen her in ten years, I saw her in my dreams as clear as anyone I saw every day, only she was in pain. She shouted my name and I knew she needed my help, only in the dream, I couldn’t.

“Annie,” a voice said, taking me away from my thoughts.

“Milady,” I said, nodding to her.

She smiled.  “I wanted to talk to you…about earlier,” she said, hesitating just a little.

I looked down. I thought she was referring to my rebelling attitude toward Obi-Wan.

“I’m very sorry that you had to hear all of that,” I told her honestly.

“No, not that,” she said. “I meant, well I kind of had an idea and I don’t think Master Kenobi would approve of it,” she continued.

“What is your idea exactly, Milady?”

“To use me as bait. What if whoever is trying to kill me came for another attack? You and Master Kenobi would try to catch him in order to protect me, correct?” she asked.

“Yes, but Milady, using you as bait would be extremely dangerous. I don’t think that would be very wise. I think I actually would agree with Master Obi-Wan on this, Milady.” I was only concerned with her well-being.

She sighed. “Well, whether you agree with me or Master Kenobi, I am going to block the security cameras in my room.  I am actually a little bit uncomfortable with you watching me,” she said. She winked at me, but I could have imagined that.

“Yes, Milady,” I murmured so soft I don’t think she heard me.

“I’ll program R2 to warn you if an assassin does come, alright?” she asked as if she needed my permission. R2-D2 was her droid even though he was still like a droid of all of ours (as much as he’d helped us out). I nodded as she walked off. A few minutes after she had closed the door behind her, I picked up the small device on one of the tables. She had blocked the cameras.

When I put it down I heard Obi-Wan walk in. “Master,” I acknowledged. I bowed my head a little as he came toward me.

“Captain Typho has more than enough men downstairs. No assassin would dare try that way. Any activity up here?” he asked me.

“No, it’s quiet as a tomb,” I told him. “I don’t like just waiting here for something bad to happen to her, “ I continued as Obi-Wan checked the camera device.

“What’s going on?” he asked.

“She covered the cameras. I don’t think she liked me watching her,” I said, half mocking what she said. I sighed.
