I tried to move around in the tiny coffin, but I couldn't. I would die if I ran out of oxygen. I couldn't yell, because my pack wouldn't be able to hear me. I had to howl. I got ready, then howled as loud and as long as I could, then stopped, and waited. Around 20 minutes later I heard footsteps above me, thanks to my Wolf ears. I didn't last much longer than that, because I passed out from lack of oxygen.

I woke up on a couch, I didn't exactly know how long I had been unconscious, but I knew it was a while, because it was dark outside. I took a better look around and saw that I was in Derek's loft. I looked to my left and saw Peter sitting awake on a couch, and Derek asleep in a bed behind the couch I was on.
"Peter?" I whispered, but he didn't hear me.
"Peter?" I repeated, trying to stay quiet so I didn't wake up Derek. Peter looked at me, and his face changed from worry, to relief.
"Thank god, I thought you weren't gonna make it, you went 15 minutes without oxygen when Derek and I were digging you up." He said, coming to the couch I was on and sitting on the edge.
"Then how am I alive?" I asked.
"Good question." Peter said. I heard a floorboard crack behind the couch.
"Who are you talking to?" Derek asked.
"Caspar the friendly ghost... I'm talking to Lani! Who else would I be talking to?" He asked.
"I don't know." Derek responded. "How's she doing?"
"Pretty good, actually. She's normal."
"How's that possible?"
"I don't know." Peter said. Derek and Peter started exchanging facial expressions, like they were talking. Peter guestured towards me, and Derek looked at me, I could tell he was uncomfortable.
"Uhh... Lani..." He started. "In the two weeks you were dead... Your parents... Your father went mentally insane and ended up accedentally shooting your mother with a policemans gun." He explained.
"Are they both... you know... dead?"
"Your father's in Echien house, unfortunately your mother didn't make it, but she gave this to us when we went to see her in the hospital." He said, holding up a necklace. It had a normal golden chain, and a single charm on it. It had the design of a compass, with a diamond in the middle.

"The diamond represents the full moon." Derek said.
"She knew..?"
"You weren't bitten, Lani. You were born a werewolf."
"Does that mean mom was one too?"
"Yes."
"Was my dad-"
"No, he was normal, but the wolf in you was dominant, you would've been either human, or wolf, Not a hybrid." Peter said.
"Well aren't I just lucky." I said sarcastically.
"Well anyway, we talked to her in the hospital and she gave me custody of you." Derek said.
"Whaaaaaaatt?" I asked.
"You're my adoptive daughter now." He said.
"Well that's sudden." I said.
Derek and Peter looked at each other, both wondering the same thing.
"Why aren't you upset?" Peter asked.
"Well, I mean I wasn't that close to my parents, I mainly stayed at Isaac's anyway, I had to constantly patch him up, due to his abusive father." I said. "I never stayed home because my parents were always fighting."
"Well... anyway, what we wanted to ask you was... Do you want our last name?" Peter asked.
"Can I use my original last name as a middle name?" I asked.
"Sure." Derek said. "We had to go do all of that paper work while you were unconscious, but luckily thats how I wrote it." Derek said.
"We have one more question." Peter said. "Do you wanna start your Freshmen year of high school?"
