(Lani's POV)
I woke up around 8:00, but just rolled over and tried to go back to sleep, since it was finally Saturday. I ended up falling asleep again, then waking back up around 9:45. I finally got dressed and headed downstairs. When I walked into the living room I saw a young boy sitting on the couch.
"Um... Hi." I said, smiling at him. "Do you know Derek?"
"My sister is downstairs." He said.
"Oh you're Jack right?" I asked, he nodded.
"Well, If you need anything just tell me. I'll be here for a little bit before I go walking." I said. I went and make myself a Bowl of cereal.
"So how old are you?" I asked.
"Eight." He responded.
"Don't you have an older brother?" I asked.
"Yeah, his name is Trace."
"Cool." I said. I sat down in silence and ate my cereal. when I was done I threw my bowl in the sink then put my shoes on to go walk around the city.
"Hey do you want to walk with me?" I asked. "I can get you some ice cream if you want."
"Sure." He said. we then went out the door and started walking around Beacon Hills. We got some ice cream and sat down at the park.
"So... Do you know anything about... You know..."
"Werewolves?" He asked. "Oh yeah, I know everything about werewolves! Watch." He stood up and looked at me and his eyes turned Blue.
"You're an omega..." I said, licking my ice cream once more. "A wolf without a pack."
"Yeah, nobody wants an eight year old in their pack, not even my own sister." He said.
"I'm sure she'll let you in when you get older." I said.
"Can I be in your pack?" He asked.
"What?" I asked, surprised at the question.
"I want to be in your pack!" He repeated.
"I don't think your brother or sister will be okay with that." I said.
"Pleeeeeeaaaasse?" He asked. I sighed.
"Okay, but you can't tell anyone." I said. We walked off into the woods deep enough so that nobody could see us.
"Alright, I'm going to have to bite you, But It'll heal right back up, okay?" I asked.
"Okay." He said. He held out his arm. "Ready!"
"Okay, one... two... three!" I said. I bent down and bit his arm, but he didn't really react much to the pain.
"Okay, let me see your eyes." I said. His eyes turned a bright shade of yellow. "You're my beta now!"
"Yay!" He said, then ran up and unexpectedly hugged me. I stood there awkwardly for a minute, then hugged him back. In that moment I felt like he was my little brother. Like this little innocent child was mine to protect. He let go and we smiled at each other.
"Are you ready to walk back to the loft?" I asked.
"Sure." He said. Then we set off, back to the loft, still licking our ice cream.
