Karen's Decision

Seconds passed.

Minutes passed.

Hours passed.

Days passed.

Weeks passed.

But Karen hadn't made a choice about moving in with Mr. Williams.

Karen finally made a decision after so much pondering.

Mr. Williams arrived shortly and exchanged pleasantries with Nanny Mel and Karen.

"I'll excuse you both now", Nanny Mel said.

"Ok Nanny Mel", Karen said.

"Karen no matter what your choice is I'll be okay with that. And if you need more time I can give it to you", Mr. Williams said.

"OK thank you sir", Karen said.

Karen continued, "Sir I'll go straight to the point now: I've known you for forever since my birth. But I've decided that it will be hard for me to adapt to a new environment and all so I'll remain in my hometown where I'm comfortable in and grew up as a child. And about the expenses, I can sort myself out by taking some jobs".

A heavy sigh is heard from Mr. Williams.

Then continued saying, disappointed, "Karen it's okay I understand I didn't expect this though, but if you need anything remember I'll always be here for you".

"OK sir thank you for understanding", Karen said.

Mr. Williams stayed few minutes later, then took his leave.

He said , before taking his leave, "Remember to call if you are in need of anything dear" with a kiss on Karen's forehead.

Karen ran to Nanny Mel's room sobbing.

"What's wrong my dear?", Nanny Mel asked.

"I told Mr. Williams that I didn't want to move in with him", Karen said.

"Then why the tears dear?", Nanny Mel asked with her sweet,comforting voice.

"The truth is I didn't actually have time to think and I'm just scared to move on, to adapt, to change, Nanny Mel". Karen said.

"Sorry dear I understand, just do whatever you're comfortable doing no one is forcing you to make any decision you don't want to. I just want you to forget and focus on your studies and leave everything aside", Nanny Mel said.

Karen stayed with Nanny Mel for some time then left to her room to prepare for school the next day.

Karen arrived in school a lot earlier than practically everyone in school.

Karen passed a wide variety of lockers, classrooms and halls.

She stopped at the door step of her class and peeped to see if anyone had arrived.

She was surprised seeing Jared, being known as a late comer.

"I must be dreaming", Karen said surprised.

They both laugh.

"You're late Ms.", Jared said.

"And you're early. Why so? You got kicked out for your mischief?", Karen asked jokingly.

"Then I would move in with you", Jared joked.

Laughter is heard across the room.

"I just felt like making a change. I have something to tell you-----".

Before Jared can complete his statement, a group of girly miss populars enter the room.

Their leader, Maddie sits on Jared's lap, giving him a kiss on the cheek and says, "Baby you're early today".

Karen is shocked and disgusted, as about leaving the room, Jared tries to stop her to explain, but is stopped by Maddie with a kiss.
