You

My chest contracting with pain
My eyes glistening with tears
My heart being eaten away by the emptiness
Like a black hole
My body convulsing with pain
My throat choked with sobs
My lungs holding the breaths I am unable to take
My strength waning with every passing moment
At that point in time
I got you.

I see you with your angels' wings
The angels' wings that aren't really there
But yet in my losing eyes
You stand there emitting the light of hope
You stand there holding my heart
You stand there calling to me
Calling to me to get up
Singing sweet nothings into my ear
Nothing really registers except your voice
Your melodies hold me close
Your words, meaningless to my senses
But holding all the meaning in the world when it comes to my heart.

Piece by piece you put together my broken inside
Tune by tune you save my drowning self.

I see my tears reflect in your doe like eyes
I feel your smooth thumb brush the salty water away
I feel your warm presence next to me.

Your plump pink lips curl into a radiant smile
A smile you put on for both you and for me
The soft pink against the pearly white
The tiniest dent in your skin which holds my heart
The beautiful crinkles appear by your brown orbs.

You smile for both you and me
You laugh for both you and me.

And I'm grateful
Grateful for
You.
