Jess pulls her flannel pyjamas on, combing through her hair and brushing her teeth; something that always calms her down.

She checks her phone one last time; no missed calls or texts. She's glad that Luke has finally stopped calling and texting and has given her sometime, although he still visits each day. She hated admitting it, but Jess found that sweet.

Jess climbs into her double bed, pulling the doona over her body and snuggling into her pillow; which unfortunately smelt like Luke; strawberry gum and cologne. This made it nearly impossible to drift off.

After nearly an hour of trying to sleep, Jess gives up. She groans, climbing out of bed and pulling a black notebook and silver writing pen from her bedside draw. She opens the book and begins writing; something she does when she needs to clear her thoughts. Luke introduced her to the idea, which was a smart and helpful one that she's used for a while now.

Jess scribbles the words down in messy writing, but she doesn't care; no one else will read it.

You're the reason. The only reason.

Even though Luke had hurt her, Jess still loves him. She would always love him; no matter what happened.
