[Jin's POV]
After meandering from store to store and getting a few "essential outfits" as Stevie put it, we head back to headquarters.
"Here," Stevie thrusted the shopping bags to me, holding them in front of my chest. It reminded me of how much shorter he is than me.
I took the bags hesitantly and smiled.
Looking down at my phone screen, I realized it was nearly 2:45 in the afternoon, roughly 2 hours before clocking out time.
Surprisingly, my modeling job is a 9 to 5.
"So... what're you doing tomorrow?" I fumbled to make conversation.
"Hm? Oh, uh... not much I guess. Stylist things, ya know. It is a Thursday, Thursday's always turn out as slow for me."
He stared straight ahead, focusing on the street as cars zoomed by and the sidewalk ahead.
I thought for a moment.
"Yeah, I feel you. I don't have a photo shoot until next Tuesday so for now I'm working with you, or doing my own thing."
Stevie looked at me.
"Wait, So.... What, do you get paid or something? Do you have to show up when you have nothing to do?"
"Well, Yeah i guess. I get paid for the shoots and the endorsements, other companies pay for copies of my pictures and on the side I sell my own stuff."
"Sell your stuff?"
I awkwardly stuffed my hands in my pockets and exhaled.
"I draw a bit. But I mostly sell prints, like, posters of me and such. Sometimes art. No biggie."
I reached my hand over my head and scratched beneath my hair to avoid conversation. At least he seemed interested in talking to me.
"Yeah, I can probably find time to do something with you. We should work on actually trying on the things we got today. I'll you at your apartment tomorrow."
I was about to say something, when Stevie's eyes lit up and looked up at me once again.
"Oh yeah, before I forget. I'll give you my number so we can stay in contact."
He handed me a business card, and I carefully slipped it into the pocket of my jeans.
For a time after that, we walked alongside each other in silence. It was comfortable, as if I'd known Stevie for a while now. We had a few laughs earlier, and none of our conversations ever felt bland or boring. It was inviting, warm, maybe harsh at times, but that friendly sort of harsh.
"I think we'll get along well, Stevie," my voice cut through the silence sweetly. He shifted his glance to me, then back to the path ahead.
"Yeah."
Once we got back to headquarters, Stevie and I stepped into the elevator and looked at each other with a certain friendliness, a better moment to our start with working together.
I waved him from inside the elevator once he reached his work floor, and the elevator ascended to the "big guys" offices floor, floor 12. I stepped through and found my way to my bosses bosses office.
