— mistletoe
author's pov
"good morning (y/n)!"
you weren't expecting such a loud crowd this early in the morning. you had just woken up, approaching them at the front door with such an untidy appearance. but of course, they didn't seem to mind and were only bothered by the fact that your house was poorly decorated for the holiday season.
"come on, (y/n), where's the christmas spirit?" jungkook asked you before walking into the kitchen to get a glass of water. the boys were all comfortable as soon as they walked into your home, already used to how things went around there.
you plopped yourself down on the couch and set your feet up on the coffee table, yawning while doing so. "i've been meaning to decorate. i just haven't had the time," you said.
you noticed most of them shaking their heads, slightly disappointed in you.
"could we decorate for you then?" hoseok suggested and everyone seemed to agree. you didn't see any issue with having them do it themselves, trusting that they'll do a decent job.
you shrugged your shoulders. "if you think you can get it done by christmas eve, which is tomorrow, then sure. go for it."
all seven of them were delighted that you agreed. in fact, they even insisted on making it into a surprise. "do you mind if you can go out for the day? we'll call you when it's all ready."
"what if you guys take all day to do it?"
"then you stay out all day." yoongi added. you glared at him, and he teasingly smiled in return. you couldn't help but laugh at his little attempt to annoy you. he was lucky you loved him.
"fine." you stood up and made your way to the kitchen. "let me eat breakfast and get dressed before i go."
they let you do what you needed to do before leaving. you walked out the door, hoping they don't cause chaos in your home while you're gone.
...
and so, it started.
jungkook and yoongi raced back to their dorm to get the decorations they didn't use this year. jimin, jin and taehyung went to the store to buy some more. and the rest, namjoon and hoseok, stayed.
"why are you getting seven bundles of mistletoe?" seokjin exclaimed, slightly loud, alarming the people around him and especially, taehyung and jimin.
"it's a christmas decoration," said jimin. he was cautiously placing them in the cart.
"but why are you getting so much?"
"one for all seven of us." taehyung simply said, with a naive little smile on his face. but not as naive as you think. "jimin and i had this idea where we choose one spot to put the mistletoe and whoever catches (y/n) under theirs first, wins."
seokjin laughed, clutching the cart and once again, earning stares from everyone else around them. "you're joking right?" but taehyung and jimin weren't joking at all. they stood there, with plain expressions splastered across their face while their eldest hyung laughed until he couldn't anymore.
"it's not that funny." taehyung said, "we actually want to do this."
jin shook his head. "i'm not doing it." the look on the maknaes' faces made him feel guilty for disapproving of their own fun, little game for (y/n). "fine. did everyone else agree to do it?"
they nodded their heads, knowing that they texted them about it earlier.
..."you can't hang your mistletoe on the front door. that's cheating." yoongi yelled. "it has to be somewhere that's not noticeable and hard to get to. there's no fun in hanging the thing in an easy place."
