"Hey she's the one that rocked the league?"
"Of course. My daughter in law and captain of the Serpents." Gabriel patted my back proud.
I smiled. "Seira!"
I heard Aaron from the back as he took me in a bear hug. "Its been long seeing you." He sighed in relief.
"Also you had disappeared. Where were you gone?"
I asked him.
"Working the whole time."

Just then Dayana broke in taking hold of me. "Where are you taking me?"
"To meet my friends." She dragged me to a troop of girls dressed wearing prom gowns, ball gowns and dressed in sequins. "Guys meet Seira my dear sister in law."
"Hello." I shook hands.
"Im Harley."
"Im Shruti."
"Im Phoebe."
"Im Rachel." Rachel seemed a little off to me, like she didnt like me. "Excuse me."
She dodged me completely and walked away.

"Forget her, she is just jealous." Phoebe said.
"Why?" Dayana sighed.
"Actually just a few months before you and Damon met, Rach's parents talked about her hand in marriage with Damon, who refused."
Oh.

"Anyways you are very pretty." Shruti said.
"Thank you. You are too."
"I wonder how much would she be bid out for?" Harley asked.
"Lots and lots of thousands."
There was no way i was taking part in the dreadful bidding. It was so embarrassing last time.

"Im not sure whether im taking part this year." I said and they gaped at me. "No ways. This is for charity remember? And i want to see whether Damon is going to be the highest bidder."
Has he bidded before?
"Has he done it before?"
"Nope. Actually only once when he bidded for me because i didnt want to dance with anyone else. Apart from that, you'll be his first."

Dayana and i went to a table reserved where Damon and my parents along with his sat. "You look beautiful." Mom said pointing towards the necklace. "Damon gave me this."
"Its gorgeous." Smiling, i met dad and sat next to Damon chatting with mom beside me in the large round table that had a tag stuck to the candleholder saying Valeros.

Not knowing when but i ended up holding his hand, intertwining our fingers until Dayana came back.
"Its time."
"Time for what?" Damon snapped.
"The bidding."
She dragged me out of my chair and i looked at Damon whispering Sorry.
"Welcome to all for coming to the Annual Charity Ball that has been here for the past five years owing to the one and only Harris family!"

The host talked about how it was established and how it carried on and so far how much did they donate.
"I just hope Damon doesnt get aggressive." Dayana muttered next to me backstage.
"Why do you say that?"
The host announced our names and we walked in succession earning a hearty applause and a few whistles.

"When Damon was a teen, he used to have fights at school very easily and got kicked out twice."
"Why?"
The first candidate got sold for eight thousand dollars and my nervousness grew.
"We still dont know but Dad brushed it off saying that it was just a teenage problem. Maybe it was."

Rachel was sold for a good thirty one thousand. I hoped Damon didnt do something crazy here too. "Ladies and gentlemen, next we have the beautiful and gorgeous Seira whose bid starts from fifteen thousand dollars!" What?!

I was getting scared when there was this money battle beginning to start.
"Twenty thousand dollars! Do we hear twenty two somewhere?"
A second hand was raised and it was Aaron. Thank goodness.
"Do we hear twenty six?"
Michael raised his hand scaring me.
"Nice! Thirty one?"
Damon raised his. There was no way he was letting me off with Michael.

"Fifty thousand!" Michael shouted and i jerked.
"Oh my! Fifty thousand dollars from Mr Harris."
"Seventy!" Damon raised his voice. Oh God.
"Wonderful! Seventy thousand dollars from Damon Valero. Anything more?"
"Ninety thousand!" People began cheering when Michael said that.

"A hundred thousand!" Crazy Damon shouted. Where was this going?
"A hundred and five!" Michael shouted. I looked at Damon who was pissed until he stood up. Oh God.

"A million!" Everything went silent and people waited and my breath was caught in my throat.

"Ay hay! Amazing! One million, one million gentlemen! It goes once, twice..."
I looked at Damon and a tear dropped from my eye and i closed them. "Sold!" Releasing the sob, i watched Damon climb up the stage personally taking my hand in his pulling me away from the crazily cheering crowd and family craze.

"Why did you do that Damon?"
"Because you are mine and so only i have a right on you."
"Bu-"
"There is an hour and a half before the dance. Can i take you somewhere?" I nodded feeling light headed because i needed a break from what just happened in there.

This was Damon. A crazy man with surprises all the time.
