Jack dried off Sam while Sam dried off him. They went back up the ladder to Jack's bed and put back on their panties and undergarments before putting on new pairs of clothes. Once the two were fully dressed, Jack and Sam walked down the stairs with fingers interlocked and smiled plastered on their faces.
"We are going to go to the park, Felix," Sam said.
Felix rushed into the company room, a broken beer bottle in hand. "No. You're not leaving. Ever." He grabbed onto Sam's arm, pulling her close to be chest to chest with him. Mark was pinning Jack to the ground as he squirmed to get free. Felix began to grope her ass, making her patience level rise to overdrive. She slammed her fist into his stomach and kicked Mark in his balls. After the two were down, Sam grabbed Jack's hand rushed out the door and ran down the porch steps, sprinting into the woods.
Sam kept holding onto Jack's hand, not letting go as she swerved through trees and went down steep hills. They stopped at an open meadow with every type of flower growing on its green silky, surface. Sam fell down to her knees and began to smell the flowers' fragrance. Jack cuddled her close to him as the sun began to set. Sam felt Jack begin to caress her thigh as he gazed out at the sunset and vast meadow.
"I did this when I was younger," Jack said. "My parents were amazing. They would take me out to go look at the sunset each day. Of course I fell asleep during the time it was setting but, I haven't wanted to something like this with one certain person since my parents were murdered."
Sam felt a tear spring to her eyes. "Jack.. I'm so sorry.."
Jack shrugged. "At least they are in a better place."
Sam sighed. "Y-yeah.."
Jack looked at her face and pouted. "Sam? What's the matter?"
Sam shook her head from her daydreams. "Oh, nothing."
Jack nodded skeptically and went back to watching the sunset.
Meanwhile, Sam was tugging grass out of the ground, her arms shaking and trembling. Why did her parents hate her? why didn't they love her? why did they try to abuse her?
Sam just shook off the thoughts. It's all changed now, she thought. Sam leaned her head on Jack's shoulder and closed her eyes, softened her breathing, and felt her lips curl into a pleasant smile.
