Chapter 8

There is an empty hole in your chest that is just aching. You are half delirious and you can't think straight. You find yourself wandering out of the hospital into the lonely dark streets. You dawdle around in search of Daehyun who left you not too long ago, you know it's pointless but you don't care, you feel like nothing without Daehyun anymore. The rain pours down heavily, and thunder crackles across the sky making an intricate design across the dark sky. You end up in a dark alleyway, a dead end in your wake. You slam your back against the wall and slowly slide down into a sitting position. You put your head in your hands and you start crying, spluttering out Daehyun's name over and over again.
That's when you hear footsteps. Slow footsteps splat on the slightly flooded ground. You look up and you know that you are in trouble, you've been in this setting before...somehow, somewhere. Then suddenly it hits you. This was exactly how your dream occurred. You start to hyperventilate and you stand up stuck to the wall. You stare at the figure slowly coming towards you, you know it's Daehyun, but just in case you strain and squint your eyes, to see the features of Daehyun, standing there. You're not surprised, and you keep a straight face. On the inside exasperated. Daehyun coming one step, two steps closer.

You: ...Daehyunah?...Daehyunah...I understand why you would be acting like this, let me explain...

Daehyun stops in his tracks and he has a look of pure shock on his face. He seems to be utterly confused, and he finally speaks.

DH: How did you know...? Let me explain why I'm doing this...just let me explain, [Y/N].

You: I know why your acting like this, but it doesn't have to turn out like this...

DH: Yes it does I have no choice... You don't understand, I have to obey his orders....why?

He comes closer and punches the wall right next to my head and keeps it there, his face is very close to yours. You can feel his warm breath on your face and he try's to hide the fact that he's crying. He lowers his head and lifts it up facing the sky for a brief second then looks straight into my eyes, his face streaked with tears. You put your hands on his face and hush him like a baby. He shakes his way away.

DH: How can you do this to me? Now I can't get over this like I didn't know you...I could have done it...I could've...

He crys and you feel a pang of sorrow slowly ripping apart your heart into pieces.

You: ...but you didn't... You chose not too, you stopped...

You shudder at the last phrase.

You: ...because you love me, in a way that could break through anything... I'm unbreakable to you, I'm your cheesecake.

He cries and you can't help but wrap your arms around his neck bringing him closer. He wraps his arms across your waist, his hand on the small of your back. He breathes a shaky breath.

DH: I'm so sorry, [Y\N]... I will never hurt you again...I promise you... I love you.

Your breath stops at the last phrase you pull back and look straight into his eyes. He has a look of compassion on his face and he slowly closes the space between you and him. Rain pours down your faces. Your lips interlock perfectly like puzzle pieces, and you guys match your breaths there in the rain. Then he pulls back and says... I love you.
