*Katie's POV*

"Sam! Get off!" I yell and push him away from me. Kian and Jc come into the room at the wrong time.

"What the hell happened?" Jc asks, examining the mess of a room. I glare at Sam.

"Nothing," Sam says smirking, "we were just talking." I cross my arms over my chest. Jc walks me backwards, away from Sam, while Kian steps in front of Sam.

"Did he hit you?" Jc whispers to me. I shake my head no, but I shouldn't have because it exposed the bruise on the left side of my jaw. Jc gasps. "Sam!" He shouts but I pull him back.

"It doesn't matter Jc." I say. "I'm used to it now."

"You shouldn't have to be used to someone hitting you Katie."

"Who hit Katie?" Jake asks from the doorway, startling me. Once he's close enough to see the bruise, his face is full of anger. "What the hell is this?" He lightly brushes my jawline.

"Nothing." I say, even though I know he won't leave it alone.

"Tell me who hit you Katie." Jake demands.

"I don't want to start trouble."

"You're already in trouble. Now tell me." I glance over at Sam, who Kian is barricading from me. Jake picks up my signal and turns around to meet my gaze. "Sam?!"

"What?" Sam asks smugly.

"Kian, move." Jake tells Kian, but he shakes his head no.

"I don't really think-" Kian starts to say.

"I didn't ask you if you wanted to." Jake cuts him off. "I told you. Move. Let's see how fun it is to Sam to punch people." He looks at Sam and starts running.

"Jake! Don't hit him!" I scream, making Jake stop.

"What?! Why?!" He asks confused. "This douche needs a taste of his own medicine!"

"No he doesn't. Just because he hit me doesn't mean you have to hit him back. Don't be violent." I say, taking Jake's hand and walking out of the room. I don't talk the entire way until we reach the room. I take the key from Jake's pocket and unlock the door, sitting on the bed when I walk in.

"Put this on it." Jake says, placing a cold wash cloth on the side if my jaw. "I want an explanation, like now." He demands and I sigh.

"Do you really want to know?" I say, hoping he'll say no.

"Yeah, I do." The statement was too serious for me not to tell him.

"This was just a one time thing. It won't happen again. He hit me accidentally." I can't believe I just lied straight to Jake's face. Well, I couldn't look at him or I would've spilled the beans, so I just looked away the whole time. When I turn my head to meet his eyes, I can't tell what his expression is.

"Are you sure?" Jake finally asks. I gulp and avoid his eyes.

"Positive." I say as my voice cracks. I know that he needs to know but before I could tell him that I straight out just lied to him, Jake takes the washcloth from my face.

"It will probably be yellow or some disgusting colour tomorrow." He says, examining my jaw line. I don't want to correct him that it will be purple because I'm afraid I'll blurt out the truth. Jake sighs and sifts his body so that he's slightly in front of me and looks more carefully at my wound. I grab his hand and scoop up his lips with mine. He kisses back gently but pulls back only after a few seconds.

"Why'd you stop?" I ask him, hurt. Jake just shakes his head.
