Through It All

VI

A week after I finished my exams, my brother, Sam, told me that he was in love with Amy and that they started going out together.
I couldn't believe it! My brother and my best friends..! Those were the greatest news I've heard that week.

I went out to take a walk in the village. I was so happy that day. I wanted to talk to James, to share my happiness with him but I hesitated.
I shouldn't show him that I still care for him. I shouldn't care for him anymore.

Walking down the street, I was looking at the beautiful nature arround me. That village was where my days were passing by with lonelyness. But still, I couldn't deny that it was the most beautiful village I've ever seen; its old small houses, surrounded by green trees and colored flowers.. its beautiful nature, where I used to wake up every morning on the voice of the singing birds..
And ofcourse, the amazing sea view that I used to watch every day from the balcony, especially on sunset..

I stood in the middle of the village, under a high tree, and decided to follow my heart for once, without thinking about what could happen.. just do what I wanted to do.
I took my phone and called James but he didn't answer.
I retried after some minutes:

"Hello" His soft, beautiful voice made me almost forget what to say.

"Yeah hello. Umm.. It's me, Grace"

"Yeah Grace, do you need something?"

"I just want to hear your voice"

"Grace, we can't be together. Just forget about me. I have to go, bye"

He hang up without even waiting to hear my reply.
Who does he think he is?!

As I stood up and started walking toward home, it started to rain.
The sky became darker and darker, and the rain became stronger and stronger as I was walking.
I decided to go to the church and pray before returning home.

As I entered the church, I started praying and talking to Jesus.
"I have no one by my side.. I need you, Jesus. I can't find a reason to be happy. Maybe I can't get over him because I have nothing else to think about.
Please, Jesus, show me something beautiful. Give me a reason to be happy." I prayed, crying hard. "I know you're here, I know you're listenning. Please, tell me something. Help me, I need you, Jesus"

After praying, I washed my tears and went out of the church.
I got surprised to see that there was no more rain. I looked up and saw the flying birds in the beautiful blue sky.
Then I looked arround me to see the beautiful flowers arround the church.
Happiness filled my heart. He answered me!
