But there was one negative thing about it. I’d never see Liam again. Never ever. He’d never know it was me who saved him.
Just now I noticed that everyone on the bus was staring at me and that the bus was way too full. Okay, who wouldn’t look at a girl, who just jumped on a bus and was completely out of breath? I just tried to ignore it and looked for a free seat. And found it.
The last one. I let myself fall down on it. I still breathed really heavily and fast. I noticed, the sweat, which was running down my face. I smiled. Adrenaline was cool.
“Are you okay?” asked the someone sitting next to me. He also breathed quite fast. I turned my head and looked into really beautiful brown eyes.
It was him. Liam. Liam Payne. He had a bruise over his left eye and blood ran out of his cheek.
“You are the one who saved me.” He said with his beautiful voice. I nodded. I wasn’t able to speak.
“I can’t thank you enough. Can I invite you anywhere?” Liam asked. Whoa.
“No, better not now. Look at us. And you should see a doctor before. Looks like it hurts a lot.” I told him.
“It actually hurts a lot. The knife wasn’t as sharp, as it looked like and he ran it into me really painfully.” He said.
“Oh. I answered” and then we went quiet for a while.
I looked at Liam a few times. His shirt was really ripped and showed much of his body. It was nearly all red and wet. His jeans were also ripped and bloody. The wounds on his body were huge and a little dirty. It must’ve hurt a lot.
“Can I help you somehow?” I asked him.
“I think I’ll be alright. It doesn’t hurt so much.” He answered, but then he convulsed his face. It did hurt him.
“You should go and see a doctor.” I looked at the plan on the wall. “There’s a hospital in five stations. I’ll have to get out in four. Will you be able to go there on your own? I don’t want you to black out.” I said.
“I’ll be fine.” Liam replied, but pressed his lips together and closed his eyes.
“No, I think I really should come with you.” I said and he wouldn’t change that.
So we got out together at the bus stop close to the hospital. I had to help him with walking, because of the deep cut in his leg. We made it to the reception, where we had to wait.
More randomly I looked at the clock on the wall. It was already so late; my best friend from home would call me in fifteen minutes. And we nearly never found time to talk.
“Liam, will you alright, if you have to stay here and wait for the doctor alone? I need to get home.” I said and got up from the chair.
Liam took my hand. ‘Please’ said the look in his eyes.
“Sorry.” I replied and pulled my hand back. I went a few steps until Liam shouted “Wait!”
I turned round.
“Please let me give you the possibility to return the favor.” He said. Then he grabbed a pen and wrote down some numbers on my arm. “That’s my number, call me, okay?” He said.
I nodded, then turned round and left. I ran along the street to my house. I was so happy. I opened the door and closed it again then I squealed and jumped up and down, because I was so happy. It was just crazy!
