Instead of walking down the main stairs and out onto the courtyard like everyone else, Jacob lead us upwards.

Thea and elizabeth stood by a door that said, 'roof access' on it.

"Hey Seth." Elizabeth said.

"Hey." I replied. I looked to Thea who was looking at me. She nodded in greeting.

"Were just waiting for Keith, Andrew, Rebecca, and Leah. Then we can head up." A few minutes later a couple holding hands and another boy and girl behind them came towards up.

"Seth, this is Keith and Leah, and Rebecca and Andrew." Jacob introduced.

"There is no 'Rebecca and Andrew', there will never be a Rebecca and Andrew." The girl with black hair and green eyes said. The boy next to her agreed, though they were standing too close for this to be true.

"That's not what Jacob meant." Elizabeth said rolling her eyes.

"Well now that Seth is here, I am no longer the new one in the group." Leah said. "Nice to have you here Seth."

"Yeah. Thanks." I replied. Leah ignored me leaning in closer to Keith. He had brown hair and dark skin. He looked extremely athletic. He was the type who could attract whomever he wanted.

Elizabeth and Jacob lead the way while Thea and I closed the pack. Thea made sure to shut the door behind us.

There was a ladder that lead all the way up to a trap door type thing and Jacob lifted up the door.

The roof had a perfect view of the entire campus and mountains in the distance with the ocean right next to us. This was a truly beautiful campus.

There was already a couch, a couple of chairs, permanent tent, towels and a fridge up here. It seemed like a pretty cool place to hang out.

"So you guys come up here a lot?" I asked Thea.

"Yeah, it's the place we come to chill." Thea replied taking a seat on the couch. I sat next to her.

"And no one knows about it?"

"Besides us? No. But headmaster Kelly loves me so even if they did know about it, I don't think show would care." She explained. The moon hit her features just right. I tried not to think that way though.

"Cool." I said dumbly.

The fireworks started but lasted longer than a teenagers attention span.

By the end of the show, the couple was making out, Rebecca and Andrew had both disappeared ages ago with an excuse about a bathroom and a forgotten jacket. Jacob, Elizabeth, and Thea reminisced about last year and a beach trip this summer while I listened.

"Do you remember when the fire almost spread to the brush? Thea had to put it out really quickly. That was great." Elizabeth said.

"Good thing the ocean was so close." Jacob said laughing.

"You freaked out so bad, jacob." Thea laughed.

"Yeah something about a forest fire or something?" Elizabeth said.

"Have you never seen that documentary-"

"No one watches documentaries, Jacob." Thea cut him off.

"I do. I bet my good friend Seth here does." Jacob said putting an arm around my shoulder.

"No dude, definitely not." Thea and Elizabeth burst out laughing.

"Well. At least I stopped a forest fire." Jacob said

"No, that was Thea." Elizabeth reminded him.

"Well, I don't have twenty different powers that allow me to control the elements." Jacob said before shutting up. The laughter stopped from both of the girls.

"You can control all of the elements?" I asked amazed.

"No I meant both the fire and the lightning. It was an over exaggeration." Jacob tried to backtrack.

"But you just discovered the lighting today." I said confused.

They were all silent. Thea glared at Jacob.

"He just meant that I can control fire really well. There are different levels of power and he was exaggerating when he said I have twenty. But he was talking about the levels." Thea said.

"But-" I started, still confused.

"You still have a lot to learn." Thea snapped getting up from her seat and walking towards the ledge to watch the end of the fireworks.

Elizabeth looked at me sympathetically and got up to sit by Thea. Jacob and I were left.

"Shes touchy sometimes about her powers. Her level sometimes scares people. She doesn't like that." I felt something weird, like the vibrations in his voice were off. We both had our feet against the concrete roofing, I could feel every time he talked. Something wasn't right. I think he's lying.

"Alright." I said going with it. "She's right, I still have a lot to learn. What classes do you have tomorrow?" I asked changing the subject.

"Dorms always have the same classes. I'll show you around tomorrow."

"Sounds good dude." I replied.

We fell into a comfortable silence. The fireworks ended and everyone went down to their separate dorms.
