You're nothing but a dust speck in a galaxy of stars You're but a strummer of chords in a sea of guitars You're a grain of sand in a desert of beating hearts So what gives you the right to ruin that piece of art
There was a boy who dreamed of being a cop He dreamed that one day he would be on top There was a girl who dreamed of being a dancer Especially now that she overcame cancer
There was a man in the crowd; his pocket held a ring He would've bent on one knee as the lead would sing There was a lady who was accepted to medical school But she'll never see a white coat because reality is so cruel
Now the boy won't be a cop, the girl won't be a dancer Even though her bravery overcame cancer The man won't propose and the girl won't see her scope, Can you tell me how you thought their families would cope?
You don't even know their names, but you shot them either way You didn't wait for them to sin, or to slip, or even betray Instead you chose their fate; bodies under the ground Like dominos they fell, round after round
How can you hurt them? People you don't even know When did earth turn into a live horror show When will people realize that the answer isn't in terror There's a glitch in the universe; an uncorrectable error
We need to stand together and hold hands as ONE We need to pray together til the darkness turns to sun
Let's hold on to the hope that tomorrow would be better One love, one heart, but in every colourful letter
