Wincing I woke up in a pile of papers and books. Quil was across from me her head in a book, a monster energy drink beside her. Smacking away a piece of paper stuck to my face I groaned and stretched. "Morning" I said looking around at the sprawled backpacks across the floor. Smiling slightly I scratched my chin.
Quil looked at me confused. "Why are you looking at our backpacks like a idiot?"
I snorted. "Just reminds me of something that happened a few years ago."
Quil only raised her eyebrow and shook her head.

Someone had knocked on Stiles Dads door, he went to open when he saw someone he thought would never return to his house like this.
"Hi." Malia said.
"Hi." Stiles breathed out.
"So me and Scott.." Malia said trailing off.
"Oh. Uh yeah. I didn't see that coming really." Stiles said blinking.
"And is that okay?" Malia questioned looking up at him nervously.

Stiles gave a surprised look before smiling slightly. "Yeah! Yeah I mean that's okay. I want you two happy." and there was a small pause before Stiles said six simple words.

"I want you to be happy." Stiles voice became slightly quieter at this sentence and maybe, just maybe if it wasn't for Malia's hearing she wouldn't of heard it. "And I want you to be happy, Stiles." She had gotten closer to him now.

"Are we both happy?" Stiles questioned looking into her eyes.

"Yeah. I think so. I know you are. And me and Scott, it's something. I'm happy."
Stiles nodded slowly before a realization hit his face.

"Is Kira alright with it?"

"Uh yeah, I haven't exactly told her yet...I mean I'm sure she'll understand." Malia said.

"She's not coming back for awhile. She said she would try to visit last time I called her but....she's always so busy." Malia said scratching the back of her neck.

"Yeah uh last time me and Scott video chatted with her was a few months ago, before you two started dating. She seemed to be in her own adventure." Stiles said laughing slightly.

Stiles took a deep breath before suddenly embracing her in a hug. "You know, I did love you. And I never want you to think I didn't. You're one of my best friends. I will always love you."

And Stiles could of swore after he said those meaningful words he felt a wetness on his shoulder. Maybe he imagined it, but it made his heart clench anyways.

"I loved you too Stiles. I always will. You're still my anchor and I think you always somehow will be. I still love you." Malia glanced at her watch and stepped back smiling softly.

"I uh gotta go, my flight is heading off in a hour or so." Malia said reaching down to grab her backpack off the ground.

Stiles did something he knew he shouldn't but he grabbed her hand. She froze and he grabbed her chin and stroked his thumb against it and turned her head to his. He slowly kissed her cheek and looked in her eyes.

"Goodbye Mal."

A beat or two past looking into each other's eyes before she slowly kissed his lips and pressed her hand on her face and trailed it down to his chin.

"Bye Sti."

There was a small, but angrily buzzing silence between each other about their newfound relationships.

The silence gone now made Stiles happy, happier than before.

He was happy he had his best friends and girlfriend, for one of the few times ever, he was happy to be alive.

They had a reunion after the ghost riders, and it was friendly but more at the same time. But it was approving, approving of him and Lydia.

Because if Malia could pick anyone out for Stiles she would choose Lydia. And at this moment, Stiles would pick Scott for Malia.

Stiles glanced down and almost laughed, Malia's backpack was now forgotten on the ground in her rush.

Malia saw Stiles park his jeep at the high school and couldn't be happier.

She dropped her backpack squealing and ran into the parking lot almost getting hit by a angry honking car, and as soon as she got there Stiles had got out of the drivers seat and just looked up at her smiling.

His eyes wrinkled as he smiled, his face was really happy, which Malia hadn't seen in that way in a long time.

"STILES!" Malia yelled wrapping her arms around his neck and holding onto him. Stiles smiled wider and returned it. He held onto her tightly. "Oh my God I'm so happy to see you."

"I'm happy to see you too Malia."

Stiles glanced back slightly and Malia followed his gaze to Lydia who stood there by the passengers seat and smiled.

Malia quickly let go rushing to her side and hugged her grinning. "I'm so glad to see you too."

"Have you already done this to Scott?" Lydia said laughing hugging her back. "Yup. Found him before school studying and attacked him to the ground."

"Probably gave the alpha a heart attack." Stiles remarked and snorted. He was wearing a leather jacket that seemed familiar, and a red t-shirt that was oddly tight, and black skinny jeans. And Lydia was smiling in his direction the whole entire time.

"Oh well." with those words Malia smirked. Lydia in the middle linking arms with them, they walked to class with Scott seeing them in the halls and joining them.

They walked the halls together officially for one of the very last times before college.

It was spring time, only four little months left before graduation, and Stiles couldn't believe he missed four months of his own out of nine.

And Malia, poor Malia didn't grab her backpack this time either.
