~DAD, NO!~
Draco and I walk into the Potions classroom, still hand in hand. When we start walking in between desks, I let go of his hand for convenience. I'm not going to lie, I liked holding his hand in an odd sort of way. It was comforting. We walked to the back and sat down, talking about random and quizzical things. Just as we began getting deep into discussion, my dad walks in, striding by quickly as he flicks his wand which closes the curtains.
"I will not deal with foolery and whimsical wand waving in this classroom. You will speak when spoken to. Some of you, this will not be a problem, seeing as how you have natural talent in Potions-" he pauses to look at Draco and I. "-While some of you don't." He glares at Harry who is sitting a few rows ahead of us. "Well it seems we have our new celebrity, Mr. Potter. Say, Potter, do you know what a Wolfsbane does?" He asks sarcastically, raising his eyebrows quizzically at Harry. Hermione's hand shoots up, of course.
"No sir." Harry mumbles. "And do you know what a Dragonroot does?" Dad asks again, his eyebrows still raised. Hermione keeps her hand raised. "No sir." Harry says a little louder, getting frustrated. I groan, placing my head in my left hand in a bored manner. Everyone's eyes instantly shoot to me, even my dad's. "Ms. Snape, is there something bothering you that you'd like to share?" Dad drawls. "Yes, actually. Potter doesn't know anything about anything in the Wizarding world. He's just now finding out what a wand is." Everyone giggles. "And maybe you should let Know-It-All-Granger answer before her poor arm falls off, then how would she be able to preform spells perfectly?" Everyone's giggles turn into loud laughs as I smirk, finishing my sentence. "Then, Ms. Snape, if you supposedly know everything, then what does a Wolfsbane do?" He asks with his eyebrows raised again. "You give it to a person who is also a werewolf on the night of a full moon and it knocks them out, fast asleep like a baby." I drawl in a bored tone. "Very good, and what does a Dragonroot do?" His eyebrows raise even higher, which I didn't know was possible. "It's used as an explosive in some situations, in others, it's used as a fire starting method." I say as I yawn, covering my mouth with my hand, then leaning back on it. "But you already knew that I know all of this. It's basic Potions. I learned this when I was five." I smirk at Draco as he smirks back at me, chuckling quietly.
"Of course I knew that, but I thought it would be better for you to explain it then us have to listen to Ms. Granger's voice twenty-four-seven, don't you agree Ms. Snape and Mr. Malfoy?" My dad's gaze shifts to Draco, who is now grinning widely as he says, "Of course, Y/N's voice is music to my ears compared to Granger's screech." Everybody laughs, but I just side smile. "Don't you think the same of me, Y/N?" Draco turns to me with a daring smile plastered to his face. "Of course. Draco, you know I'd rather listen to you complain about everything than listen to Potter's voice who sounds like I stepped on a cat's tail." I copy his smile and wink at him, turning to Harry and smirking at him. He rolls his eyes and turns around, while Hermione is glaring at Draco and I. I catch her gaze and mouth the words silently, 'Turn around Mudblood.' Her mouth opens in a perfect O shape, shocked at what I had just called her. I scowl at her menacingly and she whips around, probably terrified. Draco watched the whole thing and he snickers, high-fiving me.
"Now now Y/N, play nice with your fellow students." My dad scoffs as he turns around, walking to his desk. I roll my eyes as he turns to face us.
"Well, class is over. Know that it won't always be this fun and enjoyable. Head to your next class." He says unenthusiastically, sitting down at his desk, writing on some papers. Draco and I exit last, walking down the hall to our next class. And this goes on, and on, and on for months.
---------------------------------------------- It's the end of the school year, or close to it. Harry, Hermione, and Ron have gotten big after a Troll incident. Honestly, who cares. I've been getting big as well, but for different reasons. I've been getting big because I've been acing all my classes, with Draco or Hermione in close second. Hermione has been nonstop talking about how 'One day I'll catch up to her, and make her look like a complete IDIOT.' She WISHES she could make me look like an idiot.
I got lost in thought as I walk into a room that has a three headed god in it. It was sleeping next to a trap door that was open. I carefully walk up to it as I hear crashing and yelling. I jump down, whispering "Lumos."
As I fell. I landed with a quiet thud. I immediately get caught in some vines. 'Oh yeah, I know about these, Devil's Snare. I just gotta relax..' I think to myself as I sink to the bottom, falling onto hard stone. I wince at the pain, but immediately get up, running through the corridor and whispering "Nox." I come to what looks like a giant chess board where I see Hermione leaning over Ron. I run up to them when Hermione's head snaps to me. "What are you doing here, Snape?" Hermione hisses at me. "I'm here to help, idiot." I mumble as I bend over Ron. "Okay, this is gonna' sting, just a little bit though, okay? Can you handle that?" I whisper in a soothing tone. Ron nods his head, groaning from the pain. "Vulnera Sanentur, Vulnera Sanentur, Vulnera Sanentur." I mumble over and over again, pointing my wand towards Ron's gashed leg. He hisses as he grabs my hand, squeezing it. I adjust my hand to where it's holding his, squeezing it back for reassurance. "Okay, it's all fixed. Hermione, do you have any injuries?" I ask, genuine worry in my voice. She looks at my skeptically and says, "No, I'll be fine. But you should go check on Harry." She nods her head towards the open doorway on the other side of the chess board. I nod my head at her, getting up and sprinting towards the doorway. Before I completely enter it, I hear Ron say loudly, "Thank you Y/N." I turn around and smile at him. "Any time Ron." I say sweetly.
I turn back around, bolting towards a ring of flames that surrounds Harry and.. Professor Quirell..? I flick my wand and the flames part. I bolt through the passage way, stopping next to Harry. "Ms. Snape, what a pleasure to see you." I hear a hoarse voice call. It wasn't Quirell because his mouth wasn't moving. I look at Harry with a look of confusion. "It's Voldemort." He shakily says. My eyes widen as I look back at Quirell, who is now turned around, allowing me to see a face.
The face of Voldemort.
He smiles at me and says, "It's a pleasure meeting you Ms. Snape, but Quirell, GET THE BOY!" And with that, Quirell whips around and lunges towards Harry. Harry quickly puts his hands on Quirell's face, which starts to smoke. He screams, but before anything else could happen, I yell, "AVADA KEDAVRA!" And a bolt of green light hits Quirell, who now is silent as he falls down, dead. Harry looks at me with a face that is mixed with shock and thankfulness. But then we hear mad yelling sound. We look up to see a black cloud with Voldemort's face in the front. The cloud speeds towards Harry, but before it could touch him, I leap in front of Harry, in which the cloud goes through me and shoots out, leaving through the exit. My mouth is gaping open as I fall onto my knees.
"Y/N, are you okay?!" Harry exclaims worriedly as he bends down in front of me, putting a hand on my shoulder. I close my mouth and look at him. "I'm fine." I whisper as I smile, immediately groaning from a pain in my chest. "No, you most certainly are not. What hurts?" He asks, his eyebrows furrowed in worry. I clutch my chest, to which he blushes slightly. "We need to look at it and see what's wrong." He mumbles. I nod my head to his shock, as I undo my tie, yanking off my black vest. I start unbuttoning my white undershirt, before Harry stops me. I look at him, and his face is filled with pure horror. I look down at my shirt, which is now drenched in blood. My eyes widen as start unbuttoning faster. I yank off that shirt and slowly look down. What I see is absolutely horrifying. My chest has deep gashes on it that are oozing blood. My bra is completely drenched.
"Harry, I need you to preform the Vulnera Sanentur spell.. please.." I wheeze out as I lay on the cold marble floor. "I don't know how to cast that! That's too advanced!" Harry rambles, but I stop him by placing my finger on his lips. "I trust you. You can do it." I give him a reassuring smile as he slowly and hesitantly grabs his wand. "Vulnera Sanentur. Say that loud and clear until the wounds are cleared. And don't stop until then. It's gonna' hurt like hell for me." I chuckle lightly as I grab his hand. He mumbles an, "Okay.." before saying the spell loud and clear. I hiss in pain as I squeeze his hand with a death grip, but he does as told and doesn't stop. He finally stops and I release a breath I didn't know I was holding. I look down and the gashes were perfectly healed with minor scars. I look up at him and smile, squeezing his hand gently in thanks. He returns the squeeze and smiles at me before he gets up, holding out his hand for me. I gratefully accept it as he pulls me up, making sure not to do it as harsh as last time. I pick up my clothes and quickly redress. Once I'm fully covered, I grab Harry's hand and we walk back to Hermione and Ron. Ron is now standing up, perfectly healed. "Ron, your leg! It's better!" Harry grins widely and rushes to his friends.
"All thanks to Y/N. She stopped by just in time to help us all." As he says that, they all turn to me. I smile at them and say, "It's no big deal. Anyone could've done it. You guys could've handled it on your own." They all shake their heads and smile, Ron says, "No one else could've healed me as good as you did, besides a teacher or Madame Pomfrey herself." He grins. "And no one else could've used that spell that you used other than teachers, and not just anyone would risked themselves like that for me, or anyone for that matter." Harry laughs.
"Thank you Y/N, truly, you have been a great help. We definitely will remember this." Hermione gives me a small smile. I smile back at all of them and say, "Alright you pansies, stop getting all gushy over me and let's get out of here." I smirk at them and laugh as they laugh, heading back to the castle together.
----------------------------------------------
We were all sitting down at our House tables, getting ready for our last meal of the year. The anticipation was killing everyone as we all waited for Dumbledore to tell us which House won this year. I was busy in thought, thinking about today, before all of the Slytherin table starts cheering as I hear Dumbledore say, "-so that leaves Slytherin in first place." I clap slowly, not really interested, until I hear Dumbledore say, "BUT, with recent events, some late points shall be given." And all goes silent again.
"To Ms. Hermione Granger, for being able to think of a smart solution in the middle of a crisis, fifty points." The Gryffindor table claps and cheers.
"To Mr. Ron Weasley, for showing true initiative and being a true team leader, fifty points." The Gryffindor table claps and cheers even louder.
"To Mr. Harry Potter, for sacrificing yourself for the greater good and being brave in the most critical times, sixty points." The Gryffindor table goes wild this time. I hear Draco mumble beside me, "That means we're tied." Then I hear Dumbledore clear his throat, everyone immediately goes quiet.
"And last but not least for the Gryffindor House, to Mr. Neville Longbottom, for standing up for what is right. It is hard to stand up to an enemy, but even harder to stand up to friends." The Gryffindor table goes berserk. They all stand up and throw off their hats. "SILENCE!" Dumbledore booms, and everything goes still. Everyone sits down, so fast that they almost fall off they bench. "Now, I reward special points to-" He pauses for dramatic affect, which everyone leans in, suspense killing everyone. Tension fills the room, almost suffocating me. "-To Ms. Snape-" everyone gasps and turns to stare at me. "-For healing a student better than a teacher could, killing a threat that was about to attack a fellow student, and for throwing yourself in harms way in front of a student in order to save them. Not to mention that they are on the opposite House as you. That is pure bravery, kindness, and wit, so I award you eighty points." The Slytherin house goes as loud as the Gryffindor table did, standing up and throwing their hats in the air. Draco stands up, pulls me up with him, and hugs me. He hugs me and spins me around with him. I laugh and cling onto him. We stop and everyone hugs and high-fives me. They all cheer my name. But instead of celebrating, I look over at Harry, Ron, and Hermione who are all smiling and clapping for me.
"QUIET!" I yell. Everyone goes as silent as they did when Dumbledore yelled. "I don't deserve it, sir. The Golden Trio could've handled it more than well if I wasn't there. It was all them." I look at Dumbledore who looks the slightest bit shocked. His face shifts from shocked to a soft smile. "My dear, they could've handled it, but not as good as they did if you weren't there. Ron would be in the infirmary for weeks if you weren't there, and so would Harry. He tells me that you saved him not once, but twice?" He raises his eyebrows quizzically at me. "Y-Yes sir. I killed Professor Quirell when he lunged at Harry-" Dumbledore cuts me off. "Dear, don't mind me asking, but what spell did you use to kill him?" He looks at me with pure curiosity. "Avada Kedavra." I say loudly. He hums in response while everyone else gasps. "And what did you do to save him the second time?" He asks curiously. "Voldemort turned into this.. black cloud.. and was coming straight for him, so I stepped in front of Harry to block the attack." I look Dumbledore straight in the eyes as I say this, everyone gasps again.
"Harry tells me you got majorly injured because of this?" He presses. "Yes sir. I had deep gashes in my chest, but I taught Harry a healing spell, and he did it very well." I look over at Harry and smile. I look back at Dumbledore who is now smiling. "Well, a change of decoration is in order." He claps and all the flags turn into Slytherin logos. "Dinner is served! Eat up, because it's a long trip home tonight!" Dumbledore booms. The tables became full of food. Everyone began to dig in, but not me. I was looking at my dad with a confused look because.. he looked disappointed. I caught his eyes and I furrowed my eyebrows, silently asking him 'What's wrong?' He just looked at me with anger and sadness filled eyes before he turned back to talking with Mcgonagall. I stared at him for a few seconds longer before Draco pulled me from my thoughts.
"Y/N, aren't you gonna' eat? You haven't eaten all day, and you definitely deserve it." He smiles at me. "No.. I'm not very hungry." I say quietly as I look down at my empty plate. "Y/N, you need to eat. You must be starving after all that dangerous-" "I SAID I WASN'T HUNGRY, OKAY?" I bark at him, cutting him off and standing up. Everyone stares at us, so I consciously sit back down slowly before mumbling, "Sorry.. I dunno' why I said it like that. I didn't mean it." I looked up at him with tears forming in my eyes. His face turns from one of shock to one of sadness. "Oh Y/N..-" He whispers before pulling me into a soothing hug. He rubs my back and plays with my hair, the same way I did for him. I smile softly as I wrap my arms around his torso. "-Today was rough for you, and whatever you're going through, I'm here for you. Like you told me, I'm always here for you if you need anything." He pulls away from the hug and smiles sweetly at me. I smile even wider and I mumble a quick, "Thank you." As I pulled him back into a hug.
----------------------------------------------
I was in my room in the Slytherin dorms, packing my stuff. I packed everything I needed before exiting the dorm room and making my way to the Common Room where everybody else was. Draco had packed earlier, so he was down there to.
We all talked for a few minutes until the painting entrance flew open, revealing my dad. "Come on Y/N, we're going home." He drawls out. I nod my head before turning towards my friends. I smiled and said, "Bye guys." And walking towards my dad. My smile disappeared as I saw his disappointed look again. But before I could make it out, I got tugged back by someone grabbing my arm. I whipped around to see Draco tugging at my sleeve. He smiled at me before he pulled me into a bone-crushing hug. I laughed at him before wrapping my arms around his neck. We finally pulled away, but his arms were still around my waist and mine around his neck. "Promise to keep in touch? Promise to still be my friend next year? Promise to stay the same? And promise that you'll still be here for me?" He whispers genuinely. "Promise." I breathily whisper back. He smiles and lets me go. I release him and smile back before turning to my dad and walking out. My dad closes the painting and walks up the the front of the castle. He walks out to the front and holds out his arm.
I quickly catch up and grab it and we apparate home immediately. He shoves off my arm and walks towards our mansion's big front doors. I grab his sleeve, making him stop in his tracks. He quickly snatches his arm away, turning to look at me.
"What is your problem?"
