Megan yawned as she stretched, walking into work bored. She only ever worked with insane criminals that committed felonies and small time crimes. Nothing big. She put her hand on the door and had to jump back as it swung open, a black haired woman running out.
"I can't take it anymore!" She yelled as tears ran down her face. "I'm sorry mommy!" Raising an eye, Megan ignored it and continued on her way.
"Morning Meg," Brian grinned. Brian was the receptionist for Arkham. They used to have Melody, but after an incident, they switched to a male staff. Some of the visitors got a little handsy. "How'd you sleep?"
"It was okay," Megan shrugged and let out another yawn. "Still need those pills though. These crazy hours kill."
"Welcome to the night shift girl." Roxy, a doctor, laughed.
"It's definitely going to take me time to adjust," Megan shrugged and headed onto ARK; a locked unit in Arkham that held the insane criminals. Clocking in, Megan put her personals away, hair in a bun, and double checked her shoes were velcroed. No one could have laces, due to the possibility of them becoming a weapon. Hair ties were permitted but couldn't be worn down or long, no headbands or clips were allowed. No one could wear any kind of jewelry, and no elastic allowed. Bras couldn't have a wire built in, and panties couldn't be lace (easy ripping). Uniforms not designated with a particular color, couldn't be see through in anyway; it was to avoid sexual attention.
Opening up the locked medication room, Megan waited for shift report. After a few minutes of picking at her nail, Joanne walked in, her nose in her clipboard as she finished documenting a few things. Looking up, she was startled seeing Megan. "Ms. Roin? What are you doing here?"
Megan furrowed her brows, "What do you mean?"
"You got transferred to KLL. Jane resigned this morning."
"Oh," Megan left, the door clicking shut behind her.
As she made her way to KLL, she couldn't help but grin, she loved a challenge and knew she'd get one on KLL. It was named that, since the murderers resided there. That's where they kept the most feared in Gotham.
