ch. 7

"You should know that killing her would mean killing yourself." I growled in a low voice at the man.

"Then killing her would ultimately set me free." The man voice said sadly.

"From What?" I almost yelled.

" You know. You were in the same predicament as I was. Y/N." The man almost laughed.

"I don't find your mind games very amusing old man." I growled. "You better say who put you up to this."

"You know the man very well. Almost too well."

That was when Natsu knocked the man out. Lucy's knees buckeld and she fell to the ground.

" Oh my God!" Lucy gasped and grabbed her throat.

" Are You Okay Lucy?" I asked, kneeling down to be at her height.

"I.. I don't.. I don't know." She shook her head.

Natsu and Gray tied up the mysterious man to one of Lucy's chairs.

"Im going to have to look at You, make sure there's been no cuts or damage done that could let poison or anything in." I looked at her sternly.

"O-okay." She nodded.

I stood up and offered her my hand. She took it and stood up. I helped her to her bed and laid her down.

"In gonna have to have you boys leave the room for now. And Lucy, could you take your clothes off please."

Gray and Natsu reluctantly left the room and Lucy took her shirt and pants off.

"How are you feeling?" I asked.

"A little shaky. But I think I'm okay." She held her hand up to look at how bad she was shaking.

"I don't see any visible cut or wound. You can put your clothes back on. How'd he get in?"

"When I walked into my apartment to my bed, he was waiting in the bathroom. I'm not sure how he got in. Only that he as here when I got here."

"You'll need 24 hour protection for a while. Just so we know that you'll be safe." I nodded to Lucy, looking around the apartment. "You boys can come back in."

Gray and Natsu came back in and looked at Lucy with worry.

"So what's gonna happen?" Gray asked.

"Lucy needs 24 hour protection from now on. I don't know If anyone else is gonna try to kill her." I replied.

"I can watch her!" Natsu yelled.

"Okay. You can take first watch then Natsu. I'll take second. Gray, do you want third?" I asked.

"Sure. I don't mind." Gray nodded.

"Ill get you guys some blankets then." Lucy stood up and grabbed blankets from her closet.

"Thank you Lucy." I took the blankets and layed a couple down for Gray and a couple for me.

I looked out the window and saw the moon starts to rise.

" Okay Natsu. You're up. If you hear anything suspicious or the man wakes up, wake us all up. Okay?" I told him.

"Got it." He nodded.

"Get some rest Lucy. You need it." I smiled at her.

"I will. You too." Lucy laid on her bed once more and started to drift off.

"Wake me up in a couple hours." I looked at Natsu and laid down on my blanket bed.

" Okay." Natsu replied. Sitting at the table and looking at the window.
