Kiara and Erika walked into the training room.
"Ready? just for old times sake?" Kiara asked pulling her dagger from her belt loop and spinning it through her fingers.
"Bring it," Erika said.
"You're going to regret that," Kiara said.
"Probably," Erika said.
"3. 2. 1. GO!" Kiara yelled. She charged at Erika. Erika went to dodge but wasn't quick enough. Kiara wrapped her arm around Erika's waist and brought her to the ground with a thud. Erika kicked up. Kiara jumped backward.
"Nice counter attack," Kiara said looking at Erika.
"Thanks. Though, you seem a little rusty," Erika said.
"Oh, well I did just have kids so, uhhh yea," Kiara said rolling her eyes.
"You're both impressive. best for your age group Kiara," a tall slender man walked out from the shadows. His silver hair glinted in the light. His eyes were kind and were alive with excitement.
"Thanks Jem. Even though I haven't had much time to practice," Kiara said looking Jem in the eyes.
"I'm just wondering one thing, how accurate is your throw?" he asked. Kiara raised her hand over her shoulder. And with out even looking launched the dagger that was in it. It hit the center with a heavy thud. Jem nodded his head. He was impressed.
"Why do you feel the need to show off at every moment you get Kiara?" Erika asked. Kiara looked at Erika with that famous half smile that she had always had.
"I am a Herondale," Kiara said, getting a laugh from Jem.
"Will does always feel the need to show off," he said. Erika and Jem were soon having a conversation about Herondales and showing off. Kiara drifted into her own thoughts.
FLASHBACK!!!!!
It was a bright sunny day. Everyone was happy.
"Come on Kiara, fight me," Erika said with a smile.
"Alright Lewis, your ganna regret that," Kiara said with a smile. The girls raced to the training room where everyone was gathered.
"There they are," Jace said as he tossed Kiara her dagger veld and Erika her whip.
"Ok when I say go, you fight, I don't want anyone getting hurt, Kiara, that was directed at you," Jace said.
"WHAT WHY ME?" Kiara asked.
"Cause you have the dagger belt, on go ok?" he replied.
"Ok," the girls said in unison.
"1," Jace said.
"2," said Simon.
"3," Magnus counted off.
"GO!" The three yelled. Kiara jumped at Erika. Erika ducked but Kiara still caught her arm. Erika fell to the ground with a thud. She grabbed Kiara's ankle and pulled Kiara to the ground with her.
"Ha!" she yelled. Kiara quickly scrabbled up to her feet. Erika did too. Erika pulled the whip from it's place on her wrist ad flung it towards Kiara. She jumped to avoid it, but wasn't fast enough. It caught her around the ankle. Erika pulled any tossed the handle up towards the rafters. It went up and over, taking Kiara with it. Erika grabbed the end as it came back over.
"PIÑATA EVERYONE!" Erika yelled. Everyone laughed.
"Oh this battle isn't over yet Lewis!" Kiara yelled from where she was hanging. Kiara reached up and yanked the part of the whip that wasn't connected to her ankle. Erika screamed with surprise as she flew up an over the rafters. Kiara landed elegantly on her feet and Erika came down in her back. Knocking the wind out of her.
"Looks like Kiara won," Magnus said walking over to Erika.
"Yep," Jace said.
"Will you ever just let me win. Just once?" Erika asked.
"Nope," Kiara said causing everyone to laugh.
BACK TO PRESENT:
"Kiara? Earth to Kiara, you are zoning again stay with us," Erika said waiving her hand in front of Kiara's face.
"Huh what? sorry," Kiara replied. They all laughed.
"Let's go find Tessa and she can teach you guys some stuff that she knows," Jem said. Then all three of them
walked from the training room.
