Kiara, Will, Jem, Jace, Quentin, and Abby walked down the street. Everyone was quiet. Abby had a stern look on her face that said, say one wrong thing and I will kill you. Since Erika's death, Ari stopped talking, which wasn't good for Kyle, since Ari was his parabatai. Caden blamed his brothers silence on the fact that Erika saved his life. Tensions weren't that high but ever since that day Kiara hadn't been herself. Always mad. Irritated with life. Isabelle had gone with Simon and Dakota to go visit Mayrse and Robert, to let them know what happened. Although they probably already knew, news travels fast in the shadow world.

"Anything?" Kiara asked looking over at her dad.

"No, I want them dead just as much as you do Kiara, calm down," he said.

"Sorry," she said.

"Sure," Jace said rolling his eyes. At that time Quentin's sensor started to buzz.

"Guys, I'm getting something," he said.

"Like what?" Kiara asked.

"Something big, like a pack, I think we found them."

"Nakir," Kiara said quietly. The seraph blade lit up with light. they turned the corner to find a group of demons. They turned around to face the Shadowhunters. Then started laughing.

"I told you they'd come," one hissed.

"Yessssss," another said.

"You dirty sons of bitches killed my parabatai, go back to hell where you came from," Kiara said. Then the Shadowhunters advanced. They easily took out the group. Abby heaved herself down against the wall. No one was hurt.

"Why didn't they fight back?" Quentin asked.

"I don't know," Kiara said walking over to Jace.

"I think they knew what was going to happen so they just accepted it," Jace said putting an arm around Kiara's shoulder, "let's go home."
