Cheap.

It was

                                       Cheap.

Illuminated by the summer warmth

The edges of the memories are softened by sunshine

Because

It was 3 days of carefree

Hot and sweaty

Cooking under the sun as we walked and we walked

Surrounded by bright sounds and

Noisy sights we

Were always smiling

Hot food and hot air

Our bodies crazily thermoregulating

As our eyes were busy taking pictures

To add to the albums since

The digital camera couldn't be trusted

A small neighbourhood but

You could see the sea

Cargo boats barely

Dots on the water

A cheap bracelet

A reminder of the adventures

Eventually lost but

Still recorded as a souvenir

Salty

Sweet

Chocolate

Street food and

Bottled water from shop freezers warmer than fridges

It was a

quick stop -

fly by -

pass thru -

The stay was short

But the stay

will be

The rest of our lives

As the

vivid memories etched

onto our eyes

ears

tongues

As they say

"You have left here but I will never leave you"

As they stay

In our body and mind

And with a moment's recalling fill

All that headspace

Move our heart to go back and relive it

And we smile and remember

That three-day hurry of

Everything

Anything

Nothing

And think

Ah,

The memories are so

                                                  long

but,

Really -

That passed by in a flurry.
