Papers

What do you see when you see a piece of blank paper?

I see an unstarted masterpiece.

What do you see when you see an empty notebook?

I see a story waiting to be written,

I see a poem waiting to be spilled,

The covers the only thing stopping the adventure escaping,

Between the lines are moving pictures,

Vintage cloths, a sweet shop,

The tale of a bird breaking free,

The action is breathtaking,

There's an unwritten speech somewhere,

It'll go down in history some day,

The biography of an adventurer,

The page isn't empty,

It simply isn't filled,

Waiting for the right moment,

When you pounce on it,

And make the picture visible,

Make the words seen,

Papers aren't blank, notebooks aren't plain,

Because, maybe if you look carefully,

Look again with fresh eyes,

Maybe you'll see,

The pages aren't empty,

They're just waiting to be seen.
