I woke up the next morning kind of in my feelings about what occurred yesterday. While walking into the kitchen, I seen that Marcus was already up watching TV in the living room.
"Good morning, sleepy head," he greeted me.
"Good morning. How was your day?" I only asked that question out of jealousy. It was a question I hoped that I wouldn't regret asking.
"It was alright. I don't plan on talking to her again though because she isn't my type."
"Oh." I smiled inwardly and sat beside him on the couch. "Do you have anything planned for today?"
He shook his head no.
I smiled. "Great. You can chill with me."
"You're up to something, aren't you?"
"No. Why would you think that?"
He looked me in my eyes causing me to melt on the inside. "Because you're so jittery and all of a sudden acting like a....female."
I laughed. "Acting like a female? What are you trying to call me? A man? I just want to spend time with you that's all. Plus, I want to tell you something. "
Today was the day that I decided I would tell Marcus that I liked him. Seeing him go on dates with other females made me realize that I really wanted him all to myself. If I couldn't have him nobody else could. Point, blank, period.
"Well, let's talk," he says while turning to face me.
I cleared my throat. "Ever since I moved in with you, Marcus, I've realized that I actually have feelings for you. I never said anything because I didn't want to mess our friendship. I mean, be for real, we've been best friends since we were kids so I knew saying something would only make things weird between us."
Marcus looked me in my eyes as if he was searching for something. Then he let out a sigh that sounded as if he was relieved. "Wow, Roz. I thought I was the only one in this friendship that felt this way. That night you called me saying that you couldn't be with Kyle anymore, it also made m realize that I wanted you more than ever. I only went on dates to take my mind off of you because you were still recovering from your last relationship. I didn't want to rush anything."
Hearing him say these things made it feel like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders. Who knew that I would end up having feelings for my best friend?
