Chapter 4

The next morning, I woke up found myself in pain. I checked my phone and seen that I had 20 missed calls from Kyle. I blocked his number. I was moving on in my life and I needed to leave him in my past.

I got out of bed and went into the bathroom to freshen up. My face didn't look as bad as it did last night and it wasn't anything that makeup couldn't cover up.

"Hey, Roz," Marcus called from the hallway. "I'm going to get breakfast. Do you want something? "

"Yeah. Get me some pancakes with extra syrup."

" 'Kay."

Marcus hadn't brought up the situation about last night, which is kind of strange being that he just wanted to kill Kyle the other day. I guess I shouldn't bring it up neither just to protect myself and Marcus from doing anything stupid.

About thirty minutes later, Marcus walked back into the house with two bags of food. As soon as he handed me my bag of food, I began to dive in.

"Are you ok," Marcus asked me.

I stared at him before responding. "Yeah. I'm fine. What makes you ask that?"

He shook his head. "It's nothing. I just wanted to make sure you were ok."

While we ate, everything was silent between us. I didn't know what was going through Marcus's mind at this point. I just hope that he isn't deciding on hurting Kyle.
