1 year later....

"Baby, come on. We gon' be late for graduation."

I grabbed my cap and gown and walked out of the house with Marcus.

Today was graduation and I was a little behind. My friends always told me that I was gon' be late for my own funeral and I knew I couldn't argue with that because, majority of the time, I was late.

I was so excited for graduation because my parents and the rest of my family were flying in from New York just to see me walk across the stage. I feel so accomplished. This was something that I had always dreamed of. Becoming a dental assistant and going off to own my own competitive dance team. I was also happy because my parents were going to finally know about Marcus and I. They knew that we were best friends, but they didn't know that we were dating. This was going to shock them, but I knew that they would be happy because they never liked Kyle.

When walking into the auditorium to line up, I seen that it was really crowded. They were a lot of people graduating in our class. Finally, they called us into the auditorium and there were screams from loud parents and family members and there were flashes from cameras. This was a very great day!

About thirty minutes into the ceremony, it was time for us to get out diplomas. I had a huge smile plastered on my face. I made it out of college with two degrees and I managed a 4.0 the whole time in college. All of my stress and hard work had finally paid off.

As soon as they called my name, the crowd roared. Everyone knew and loved me. Mostly because I'm a dancer, but because of my hard work and ethics. I'd graduated magna cum laude of my graduating class. This was a huge accomplishment for me.

After the graduation, Marcus, Cheyenne, and I grabbed our families and decided to me and Marcus's house. We were going to cook out on the grill and finally tell our parents about us....

Why are they keeping this a secret?

What do you think their parents will say?
