Ms. Cronin looked sad, or lonely. So I said "is there anything that I can help you with?" she looked up at my face with weary eyes and said, "why yes would you like some cookies and sherbert?" Well, I couldn't refuse cookies and sherbert from a sweet old lady so I went inside. Her house was very cozy. It as dim and candlelit with quilts and knitted blankets everywhere. The bowls that held the sherbert were white with blue flowers on them. The cool sherbert felt good in my throat. After the sherbert, I said goodbye and went back to my apartment. I walked in and heard a whooshing noise, thinking it was just the pipes I went to the bathroom the wash my hands. What I saw was unexpected. The whole sink had flooded! I must have left the water on before I left, I couldn't just leave it there. I decided to ask Ms. Cronin if she had any sponges. I crossed the hall in a hurry and frantically knocked on her door. She opened the door and pushed a bucket of sponges out. "How did you know?" I said, "Well honey the sinks here are very messed up so I figured that was the case." I grabbed the sponges and ran back t 2B. Luckily the water didn't reach the walls and there was no water damage. I sponged up all of the water and dumped it on the plants outside and went back into my now very humid apartment.
