Chapter One: Flash of light then.. Gone
-
One Minute, Civil war talk once again for history, another boring time it was for everyone. An hour already passing by as the clock continued to tick, the loud sounds distracting several students as it happened, the strange incident. Vanished.
The teacher that once stood before everyone in class 2rem had vanished into thin air after a large blinding light only long enough to last a second. Mutters to be heard in the room as laughs escaped several students lips, even thinking it was a simple joke plotted by the teachers of St Tho's High.
"What is this!? Prank by the teachers?"
One yelled out, standing out in the crowd as more words spread around the room some confused and others thinking of something else, like they were lost in thought somewhere deep and hard to reach. Jhillian sat alone, her eyes widened in surprise as she blinked countless of times not understanding the situation she was in at the moment. What could she think of? Vanishing so quickly wasnt even.. possible.
Pushing up against the wide counter top, the female slowly walked over to the hallway, scowering the area, several even exiting from other classrooms as if everyone in the school that taught had simply vanished, leaving students in a complete daze. Kapoof like a flick of a switch. A hand rested up against Jhillian's shoulder, familiar voices blabbering on in the background as she slowly twisted round meeting her friends gaze.
"What do you think happened?"
Ariel questioned standing next to two other male classmates, Jhustin and JD, former classmates and very old friends. She continued to speak quickly ignoring the noises around her staring back and fourth to the others by her side. Jhustin crept behind Ariel as he gave her a large hug as if to show everything was going to be allright, having nothing to worry. The female surprised slowly hugged the male back keeping her arms above her chest as she managed a strange look, simply staring infront at others as they gave them a strange death-like glare.
"Its ok Ariel, everything will be alright. Dont sweat it. You talk way too much aswell."
Jhustin stated slowly patting her hair as he backed away moments later. JD and Jhillian watched closely staring back and forth at eachother as they both nodded in agreement, planning this way back not even speaking a word to their friends or classmates.
"Are you guys... Dating already?"
Jhillian whispered making the first move as she pointed at both of them, backing away slowly every minute.
"I knew it happened! JD and I were right!"
She bursted in a playful tone her night black locks flicking up as she managed a slight jump of surprise. Creeping back infront of them, she hit both the top of their heads crossing her arms as the girl let out a loud sigh, her mood changing so quickly from playful to somewhat.. serious? "Well Baka One and Baka Two, this is not your first date so back away..." She grumbled crawling in between as she shoved them away shaking her head. In unison they both yelled,
"We are not going out!"
Ariel stepped away, awkwardly as everyone got back to their seats expecting 'Mr Glendining' to return to their spot telling them he was simply playing a little joke for the students. But he wasn't that kind of person and minutes later nothing still happened.
"Where did he go?"
One pointed out the obvious as another commented afterwards. "He's gone..? Just like that it isn't possible." The voice recognized was JC, not the most popular but everyone stopped to tune in. Once again whispers of students spread, a sudden yell echoing through out the room.
"Guys! David is gone! So is Jake!!"
And with that everyone was pulled in, agreeing and disagreeing if they were even here at school since the very beginning. No-one knew, they were all stuck in the same situation and finding an answer wouldnt be so easy.
About to stand up, a screamed blasted the halls, students jolting up in their seats as the four (JD, Jhillian, Jhustin and Ariel) stumbled into the hallway now empty except three students. The horrifying sound came from a Year 8 by the name of Janna, clutching tightly onto her cellphone as a solitary tear trailed down her pale face.
"My mom is not answering! She is always home!"
"There is no internet!" Another blurted out.
"I have a signal but there is nothing."
"I have got three bars!"
"Yep but its useless, nothing is ringing."
Someone began to scream, a flesh-crawling sound as it sent a cold chill up their spines. Others began to exit, speaking to one another as their quiet chatter began to escalate, turning from speaking to yelling,
"Try 911!"
"Who do you think I called NumbNuts!?"
Voices arguing as others pushed around fighting over whos right and wrong, what to do and not to do. The recess bell rang, a sound like an explosion so loud everyone flinched stopping whatever they did or spoke as if they had never heard it before. Large gulps could even be heard as the bell stopped a student first to speak through out the silence of the school.
"It went off! The bell! Someone must be here! We are saved!" Being recognized as someone who jumped in the air happily, although he was far mistaken a voice interrupting the screams of joys several students had created throughout the statement one of the students had given.
"Its on a timer, moron you know nothing."
The sound, recognized as Harry interrupted the voices of happiness as students backed away a large male to his side. Ben. The most annoying, self-centered bullies St Tho's High has ever had. The hallway so silent even a quiet stomp of a foot echoed. Harry known as the highest bullies little assistant was skinny, not the strongest but had back up, messing with him would only make it seem like a suicide attempt in teen version.
Jhillian leaned over her friends shoulder, looking back and forth as she tugged on Jhustin's arm hoping others wouldnt wonder why they were seeming so suspicious. Slowly stepping away;
"The TV, teachers lounge." She whispered running away as Ariel and JD looked behind confused, only to realise they were meant to follow behind. Why the TV? How would seeing a old, boring, no-good channel TV help in such a crisis? Others not knowing they trailed behind anyway taking sharp corners to lose other lost students that followed along.
They reached the lounge a thousand steps later, a sweat drop rolling down at the corner of Ariel's eye breathing heavily as the temperature seemed like it had rose. Entering slowly they split up trying to find the remote as it was out of sight, Jhustin picking it up as they stared intensly at the small TV, sitting around as Jhustin continued to switch channels. A large gasp escaping the groups lips as JD stood up shaking his head back and forth not believing what he just saw.
"No.. this isn't possible. Why! Why does this happen to me!"
