When they got back to the office Luna went back to the accounts she'd been looking at as Draco had asked. They were a bit of a mess still, even after her starting on the project. Luna didn't mention quite how bad they were after their little run in on her organising them the other day. She didn't think he needed to add any further resentments to add to the list of his last employee. It wouldn't be good for his health.
----
The next two weeks went on quite well, as well as having two polar opposite personality types in one office can go. The fact that Luna made an effort in her new clothes made a bit of a difference in Draco's books. It had been quite a shock when she'd turned up looking very presentable for once. He might have mistaken her for a much more sensible and perhaps enticing witch had it not been for the still dreamy look in her eyes and the gentle humming of countless nameless folk tunes that often could be heard before she entered into sight. Anyway it was definitely a good thing that Draco had done getting her a work wardrobe. He was very pleased with himself.
However, after having worked with him for a few weeks Luna had become worried about Draco's health. He always seemed to be scowling, he'd certainly get tired with all that stress. He also drank far too much while at work in her opinion. Perhaps because of the headaches he was always complaining about... although she was quite sure sometimes he was referring to her as the headache. He also didn't eat well. He drank a lot of coffee and ate very little, and when he did eat it was some crumbly biscuits or Chinese takeout on the odd occasion.
Luna made note looking at him when he came out of his office ('to go to the bathroom' which really meant 'check she hadn't made their office look like the result of a paper tornado as she had the other day') to bring him in some herbal remedies she could make up from some of her garden herbs. Also she'd heard that lavender essence could help with stress, so she thought she might start putting one or two drops into his morning coffee.
The next few days Luna had turned up with some 'bright ideas' about how Draco 'might look after himself better'. These ideas were very much not appreciated as Draco had so kindly put it. However, he did rather like the lavender in the coffee, although he made sure not to mention this to Luna as he was sure it would give her the wrong idea that she should continue to make decisions on such similar matters without consulting Draco.
Alas, despite Luna's efforts in looking after Draco, a particularly stressful and important new account he'd been working on which also warranted the constant checking in of his father to make sure Draco indeed did know how important this account was, finally got to him. Luckily after he'd finished working on it and had submitted it to his father.
After all it was sometimes that way. His immune system had just been hanging on with Draco pure force of character and determination to do a good job, but now it was all submitted and his father had given the nod of approval Draco's body seemed to turn to jelly, his nose turned red, and his head became clouded. He tried for a day to come into work and stick it out, but this time it was just silly. Even Draco himself could see it was pointless if he wasn't going to get any work done. The next day Draco decided he wouldn't be going into work.
--------
Draco hated being sick. He hated having to stay in bed and rest while the company was probably sinking without him there. He'd told Luna to have the few days off as well although she'd offered to go in and just check on the office and do a few administrative things to keep it going. He'd heartily refused her knowing that only she could make a menial task into a horrendous mess if he allowed her to be there by herself.
