Double Rick Trouble

Chapter 30:

Ricks POV:

His eyes widened and I turned back around, continuing towards the pod.

As I walked through the door, the screams were sharply cut off; I looked back, seeing them drooping like flies.
I gave one last fake sympathetic look before turning back to the pod and walking in.

I got home without any trouble.

As I walked through the garage, I saw Rick J-373 still asleep on the cot.

I walked into the living room, seeing everyone back to their normal activities.

Morty was watching TV, beth making dinner, and summer was texting on the couch.
Jerry, of course, was trying to win the affections of beth, which made me laugh because she looked like she was about to stab him.

I walked over to Morty and plopped down on the couch next to him.
"So.. Are you um.. ok-AA-y?" You said half-heartedly

Morty looked at me confused.
"Yeah.. Why wouldn't I be?"

I rolled my eyes.
"Nevermind"

[They must've wiped their memories…]

I sighed and went back to watching TV, taking a swig from My flask.

About an hour later, I heard some ruckus in the garage.
Beth looked at you nervously.

"Um.. Rick.. Who's in the garage?"

I sighed.
[I guess I gotta tell them]

"Well.. There's a thing that happened and um.. There's another m-" I was interrupted as the garage door creaked open.
Everyone attention shifted to the door, seeing Rick J-373 step out cautiously.

As soon as ricks eyes fell on my family, his eyes widened and he froze.

I'd almost forgotten he lost his family years ago and hadn't really done much dimensional traveling.

This was probably the first time he'd seen a morty or beth in years.

I took another sip and put my flask away, walking calmly over to the other rick.

Everyone's eyes widened.

"U-u-uh rick... W-why's there another you...?" Morty stuttered nervously.

I pat J-373 on the back and brought him out from his  trance.

"Like I said.. Shit happened."

J-373 looked at me and gulped.

"T-this is.. Your family?" He said.

I nodded.

"Go say hi" I shoved him towards them.
I wanted to bi-pass the awkwardness but I also really wanted to see him look like an idiot.

"Uh.. Hi..." Rick said nervously and gave a little wave.

Everyone looked at each other, then at rick.

"Hi" "hello" "hey" everyone said at once.

I rolled my eyes.
"Okay that's enough." I put my arm around his shoulder, forcing him to lean against me awkwardly.

"He lost his family a few years ago. The federation took over earth and what not. " I explained.

Everyone gave a look of 'ooh' and 'I'm sorry'
Beth immediately ran over and hugged rick.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!  That must've been horrible!" She said, backing up.

He smiled and relaxed his composure.
