Soyoo's P.O.V.
Rain didn't seem to stop any time soon. I slowly walked towards my house's main door, holding the jacket that was covering me, and my bags.
I did not want to have to face Mom, so I just let go of my heavy load. And myself, too. I sat on the carpet in front of the door, my butt on the WELCOME text, my body - for what I could fit it with my long proportions - hidden in the heat of the fox fur.
I stared in front of me: cars passing by throwing water on the sidewalk, people, alone or in pairs, under umbrellas, who were looking for shelter. In the hurry of bad weather, no one would consider a girl sitting in front of an old building.
It was not that I've always liked rain. It would have felt better to watch if I was in a closed and hot place, like the night before. But at the time, hearing and seeing it fall, it felt as if it was engraving in my memory what had happened earlier, with every single drop, similiarly to the sculptor's tools on the marble block.
One hour before
"So, are you gonna pay for that stuff or not?" said the old man. I was still at the convenience store, while other people with bothered faces payed and looked at me after I called Eunjoon in front of them.
Stoopid Soyoo, you wanted to leave so bad that you didn't even check your bag.
"Y-Yes, I already told you, Ahjussi, my friend is coming for me."
"She better be, or you'll see how I call the police for this."
"Police? I didn't even try to steal anything!"
"Umph. Who knows? YOU could be one of those damn teenagers waiting for the good chance to run away with whatever you took without being noticed." I could not believe his words. What had the world become to suspect even a student? WAS I that frightening? Or was he really like that?
"And why don't you just go away and try another place? You're only making yourself more and more suspicious", he said.
As if he would understand that this was the closest place to not spend much, since I only have myself to bother for my survival.
"It's... really none of your business, Ahjussi."
"It's none of MY business if a suspicious high schooler comes in MY store and says suspicious stuff? You gotta be kidding me, kid."
I was so tired for that day that the next sentence came out without a second thought. "With all due respect, you should behave a little like your age, If I'm the "little kid". You are only demonstrating to be an adult who harasses clients, and-"
"THAT IS ENOUGH, YOUND LADY!", he screamed.
I got goosebumps, and I closed my eyes in fear for a mere second.
The next thing I knew, someone touched my back, and I glady wanted to see Eunjoon's face instead of another client who wanted me to move aside.
But - Oh My God, why - I was wrong again.
Jeonghun was standing there, smiling at me.
All soaked wet.
Flibbity gibbets.
