Today was a normal day. That is... until I was forced into working late.
Now I do consider myself to be a rather safe girl. I go home while it's still day time, and during the winter when the sun goes down much faster I take the most populated route home. I live alone, yes, but I have a good security system and have made friends with all my neighbors and they look out for me. I am a good girl, I stay out of trouble, and if I have to get into trouble I let the police do their jobs.
My life is predictable. At least... it was.
I was walking home alone in the dark. It was late, I mean, really late. My job as a curator for my museum doesn't keep me until 5-7 but today was busy. We just got a very large shipment of Italian artwork so I was held up. At least I get overtime for all that.
To the left across the road, a little ways ahead of me, were three handsome, young men walking together laughing and picking on the one in the middle. The poor guy had beautiful blond hair and he was tall but not taller than the other two. Suddenly I heard someone yelling behind me.
"Glass! Wait!" it was my co-worker. Why in the world is he so frantic? I whipped around and sent my midnight hair flying all around me. I heard the men behind me stop in silence. "Glass! Finally!" he bent over with his hands on his knees.
"What's wrong?" I asked and gently touched the top of his head.
"The list." He breathed through gasps. "Glass, you forgot to leave the list of items for the interns."
"Oh my gosh! I am so sorry!" I pulled out a manila folder and handed it to him. "Here you are, again I'm really sorry."
"No problem, it doesn't matter as long as we have them now." He smiled at me and purposefully touched my hand as he took the folder from me.
I know he has feelings for me, but he's just not my type. I don't want to seem harsh or like a bitch but he is weak. I need someone stronger than I am, I need someone in my life I can effortlessly lean on and go to for help. And that could never be him. He smiled and walked away, I waved him goodbye then turned and continued walking with my bag at my side. I noticed the men were standing still whispering. That was when I picked up the pace and hurried home.

"Boss!" Ichigo yelled as he ran into Akio's bar.
"What's wrong?" Akio said looking confused. His bar was closed so the only ones in there were Joji and himself.
"We found her! We found Glass' great-granddaughter!" Ichigo sang happily.
"Are you sure?" Joji asked standing up.
"Kyo pulled out a picture of Glass then took a picture of her and did something then something popped up saying she was a match." Iku tried his best to explain but only left Akio and Joji very confused.
"I used a facial recognition program on my phone and the girl we came across proved to be related to Glass. And giving her age she would be his great-granddaughter." Kyo explained calmly as he stepped into the bar.
"Yeah! Plus someone she knew called her Glass." Ichigo hopped around with joy.
"If you are really sure then go get her!" Akio said with a smile. Kyo nodded then headed to the basement. Moments later he came back with her full name and address. After that everyone but Akio left to go get her.

I'm out even later now because I had to pick a few things at the store before I forgot. I was never a big fan of the darkness. I turned the key in the lock on my front door as the cool night air scraped along my back. My apartment was on the second floor of this little two-story building and all the doors are on the outside. I like this building, its small and everyone is close together, we're like one big family in here.
