Chapter Seventeen

Amelia POV:
After I said those words, I felt a heatwave surge through my body. Hot salty tears fell out of my eyes, I stared at Kai my blood boiling.

I turned my back to them and tried to calm myself but I felt hands around me. I looked to see who it is and it was my precious Meeray, she stared at me with a warm smile on her face.

"Wanna go get some ice cream? My treat!"
"Okay, lets go" I said drying my tears, she won me over when she said that.

On the way their Meeray walked next to me, because it was awkward walking next to Kai. At the ice cream shop we sat outside and ordered out ice cream.

I was tapping my leg stressed and wanting to go home fast, to get back to my siblings. They haven't eaten yet and so I started thinking of recipes to cook but Jae broke my train of thoughts and got my attention.

"Guys there's a festival today wanna go there?" He asked.

Did he say today? God.
My face flushed a bit red because I was flustered at the question, like of course I wanted to go but i have to take care of my siblings.

I was about to refuse but Meeray jumped in for me. "Yeah sure! And we can take Amelia's siblings there, they'll have fun"

"Bu-" I tried to say but got interpreted.
"Even better, are you okay with that Amelia?" Jae asked me.

" I don't want to bother you guys.. after all they are my responsibility" I said playing with my spoon.

"Nah it's okay, come on lets go" the three of them stood and picked up their bags waiting for me.

A smile couldn't help but to be formed on my face, I love them.

"Okay follow me then"
After a short walk we got to my house and entered it. My second oldest sibling Olivia opened the door, holding a crying Vernon.

I took Vernon from her and soothed him. I entered the living room and found the last one Brain watching tv.

"Hey Olivia and Brain gather here for a second"
"Yes Amelia" they said in union, God sometimes I think they're twins because of how strong their bond is.
"Would you guys like to go to the festival today?" They looked at each other then at me and yelled.

"Hell yeah! Let's pack the bag" I giggled at their actions and so did the others. I gave Vernon to Meeray for her to hold him a bit while I pour juice for them.

After a little while Olivia and Brain came with the bag and gave it to me.

"Come lets go" I open the front door and everyone got out, I locked it and we started walking.

"Brain hold your sister's hand" he held it and walked in front with Jae and Meeray while Kai stayed with me.

"Here, let me hold it" Kai said, taking the bag off my shoulder.

"No don't you're already holding your school bag"

"It's okay and you're holding a child" he countered back, I thanked him quietly and continued to walk.

We arrived at the festival, and it was packed with people either on rides and playing games or enjoying the food.

In the corner of my eye I saw Meeray and Jae being dragged by my siblings, I cracked a smile amused at the scene.

Kai stayed with me. We were walking around until Vernon nudged me and started crying, hungry for food. I sat down at a bench and adjusted his position.

"What do you want to eat sweetie?" He didn't answer, he kept crying.

I suddenly felt Kai leaving my side and heading over to a food stand, he came back with fries and a bowl of salad.

He sat next to me and placed the food.
"Okay Vernon you're a big guy right?"

Vernon sniffled and answered" yes"

Your hungry little man so I brought you food, let's eat it and then go play on rides" Kai said holding a Fry dipped in ketchup. Vernon reached out and took it, then stuffed it in his small mouth.

He sat on my lap happy and content with himself, he enjoyed Kai's company,I was so engrossed in their conversation that I forgot that I was hungry myself.

My stomach started making sounds, and I was a bit embarrassed, Of all times and places it had to be right now?

"Here" I heard Kai say, I looked up to see a spoon full of salad in front of me. I didn't know what to do, I was a bit worried about what to do.

If I rejected would I hurt his feelings? Wait why am I suddenly caring about these stuff? Today is a mess.

I stayed still staring at the spoon while he waited for me to eat it. I was about to open my mouth when Vernon jumped and took the spoon and ate what's on it.

Me and Kai couldn't comprehend what just happened, we stared at him blinking fast until we both broke out laughing.

"Thank you anyway" I said still laughing, after Vernon finished eating Kai bought me a corn dog and we sought after Meeray and Jae. Continuing to tour and play games until we dropped dead.

I got a taxi for me and my siblings and said goodbyes, at home I set everyone to bed and tried to read for the test since it's near, well I did say the word tried. I couldn't help but fall asleep.

The next day I woke up cranky and with a hurting neck.
