Enemies with Benefits
A week has passed since Tate's house party and every time I spot Sebastian at school, he has a smirk on his face. It makes me want to do something to wipe that stupid look of his face.
I don't like him; well that's what I keep telling myself. It's like anytime we're within each other space, my lips almost always finds a way to glue themselves to his.
Well no more of that, I'm keeping my distance from him at all times during school.
I'm in third period English Literature which is another one of my favorite subjects. I've never told anyone this, but I love to read.
I remember when I was little and my parents would have really heated argument, I would read one of my favorite classic novels of all time, Pride and Prejudice. Reading then was my sanctuary and safe place and I still find such comfort to this day. I've lived a thousand lives and visited a million places within pages of my favorite books.
Mr. Redford, our literature teacher, is discussing the theme of love within The Merchant of Venice. I've read and reread this book quite of few times but I refuse to join in on the discussion. To everyone, I'm this one-dimensional character, a stuck up bitch, and I like it that way.
I sit there while everyone partakes in the discussion going on, bored and disinterested.
"Am I boring Ms. Henderson," Mr. Redford says to me.
"As a matter of fact, yes you are Sir," I say to him, smile on my face.
I see his face slowly turning red from my response and the smile on my face grows even wider.
"Ms. Henderson, leave this classroom at once and head to the principal's office immediately."
Still smiling, I remove my bag from where it's hanging on the back of my chair and rise to leave.
Mr. Redford and I both know I'm not heading to the Principal's office but he does this all the time to give the other students the impression that he's the one in charge. As if...My dad contributes heavily to this stupid little school so the Principal lets me get away with almost anything.
I leave the classroom and head towards the exit of the school, towards my car. Mr. Redford's class is the period right before lunch and now that I have some free time, I'm thinking I should go get something to eat before lunch actually starts.
As I'm heading towards the exit, I see Sebastian bending the corner, coming from where the science lab is towards me. He notices me and what direction I'm heading in and I see one of his eyebrows rise and he smirks.
"Someone's breaking the rules," he says looking down at his watch.
