I'm sincerely so happy that I've managed to finish this chapter somewhat faster (at least compared to my last updates). In the past months writing has become my lifeline and the thing that keeps me sane. I'm already working on the next chapter, so hopefully I can get it to you darlings really soon. But for now I'll just leave you to enjoy the fluff ;)
Just don't forget to toss me a little comment or critique... anything and everything you have to say, I want to hear it all! So, enjoy lovelies~ ( ˘ ³˘)❤

"...What?"
Seated in Klaus' office, Rosetta was staring at him as if he had suddenly grown an extra head or spoken some alien language out of the blue.
"Do you not understand plain words?" he retorted from behind interlaced fingers, staring her down across his desk. "I had the impression you were intelligent enough to grasp the meaning of such a simple phrase."
Finally his sarcasm had the effect he was seeking, drawing her out of her daze and irking her enough to return to her usual self.
"Don't patronize me, Goldstein." she pouted. "I got the meaning of your words... even the underlying one that I wish I hadn't."
"Oh? I'm curious..." he goaded her with an amused spark in his gaze.
"I may be dating you, but don't think for a second that love blinded me or anything. I know what come spend Christmas at my place means."
It meant several things that she didn't look forward to. For one, her father would be furious and likely nigh-impossible to be convinced to agree to this. Secondly, if he agreed, she would be stuck on the Goldstein estate for two whole weeks, having to deal with his parents who surely hated her guts simply because she was a Whitehorn. Thirdly – and what possibly pricked her the most – was that she couldn't deny she wanted to spend the holidays with Klaus.
"If you're worried about your father, I'm sure you can easily convince him you'd rather spend the holidays at school, than at home. Surely there are some difficult projects that you need to finish by the start of the new term, projects which you would be unable to complete at home where you lack the vast library of our Academy."
"That..." she breathed in disbelief. "That's actually a solid alibi... how long did it take you to think it up?"
"Five minutes."
Narrowing her eyes at him, she felt a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"Why do I get the feeling you've already used that excuse on your own parents?"
"Because I have... usually winter and spring breaks are simply excuses for my father to try and get me more involved in his business world, as he did with Marius. And more often than not, it simply turns into a chance for other noblemen's daughters to ogle me like a piece of meat or try to get into my bed. After all, with my older brother engaged, I'm now the most desirable bachelor of my family... although some of them do seem to prefer Elias over me."
"I can't imagine why..."
Unable to withhold a giggle at his mock-irritated expression, she reached to fiddle with a lock of hair – something that Klaus found utterly alluring... not that he would ever tell her that.
"So then... why the sudden change of heart?"
"Because I haven't been home in three years... because now I have you and I don't care who stares at us. If you want me to put it more bluntly than that, I want to show you off to the world."
