As the two made their way down the stairs Cross could hear Dust singing to himself. He was singing something he couldn't catch the words to, since he was mumbling it.

As he caught sight of Cross and Nightmare he stood up from the ground. "You were brave enough to come down here?" He asked Nightmare. Cross half blocked Nightmare and glared at Dust.

He really wasn't a threat. The guards were smart enough to put him in handcuffs that stop magic from flowing. He was defenseless against the two of them.

"I don't have to fear you... I just have a few questions," Nightmare told him, giving Dust a calm smile to prove he didn't fear him.

"You think I would answer to you?" Dust questioned, a laugh escaping him. Cross growled a warning not to disrespect Nightmare.

"You will answer to Cross, or your death will be slow and miserable..." Nightmare growled back, gently brushing Cross' side with a tentacle.

Cross thought nothing of it and glared at Dust. Only more laugher came in response. Nightmare narrowed his eye and turned his gaze to Cross.

"Get information from him..." He ordered, taking a step back. As Nightmare opened the cell door with magic Cross quickly stepped in.

Dust looked at him and backed up. Nightmare seemed really interested in all of it. "Alright... Why did you try and kill him," Cross growled.

"I'm not telling y-" Cross quickly shot forward and pinned him back against the wall. He gasped at the sudden impact. "Answer me..."

Dusts eyes flashed with resistance. He planned on being difficult... Cross shrugged, realizing it was only Dusts problem.

He threw the skeleton down on the ground and put a foot down on his back before pulling out his dagger.

He stabbed the tip of the large blade into one of Dusts hands. He only flinched slightly. "Next I will stab your shoulder... So tell me what I want to know!"

"If you are just going to kill me in the end, why does it matter?" Dust asked, a small smirk on his face. "Because I'm going to make you suffer," Cross growled.

"He does fear you Cross, I can sense it," Nightmare told him, smiling slightly. Cross hummed lightly. "I warned you..."

He stabbed the dagger into his shoulder, reopening the wound he had caused when stopping him from murdering Nightmare.

He let out a small yell then started to laugh again. "Damn, fine! Wanna know? Ink started a group," Dust explained. Cross twisted the knife, causing him more pain.

"Why? What's he going to do? Tell us!" Cross snapped, trying to get more answers. "He wants your king dead of course... So he can get Dream back and give him the throne..."

Cross, out of blunt anger moved the dagger and stabbed Dusts other hand. "As if we would ever let such a thing happen... Whose with him?"

He answered slowly. "Blueberry, Chara, Fell... Maybe a few others..." Dust somehow was calm and steady. Nightmare growled slightly.

"Should I kill him?" Cross asked, waiting for an answer. "No... Wait until the rest come looking for him. Then we can get them off guard," Nightmare replied.

Cross stepped back and left the cell, examining Nightmares mood. He looked to be in deep thought and Cross knew he wasnt angry at all, just thinking.

The two left the dungeon and Cross scanned Nightmares features. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Nightmare asked, narrowing his gaze.

Wait, was he staring? He was just watching how Nightmare walked with pride and power. "I didn't mean to stare, I'm sorry," Cross whispered.

Nightmare looked confused. "Dude, I know I'm good looking, but calm down," He suddenly teased, causing Cross' eyes to widen in shock.

"P-pardon? That not... I was just... What?" As Cross trailed off, Nightmare laughed at his expression. "Im joking, you fool!"

Cross blinked and turned his gaze away, a small blush on his face from what had just happened. Nightmare noticed and frowned.

"Are you alright?" He asked Cross, confused by his reaction. He just ended up thinking of what Zoie said. "I'm fine..."

"If you say so," Nightmare muttered back, continuing to walked up the stairs. Cross sighed softly.

Nightmare seemed to be treating him with a lot more kindness recently, and it confused him. What if Zoie was trying to warn him about Nightmare liking him?

"As we wait for Ink and the others to try and do anything, I would like a skilled guard at my door," Nightmare told him, stopping at the top of the stairs.

"Are you suggesting me?" Cross asked, a small smile on his face. Nightmare chuckled lightly. "Indeed, you would be great,"

"Then of course I will guard it," He replied, taking note of Nightmares happy form. He hardly ever sees him happy, not counting when he is winning a fight. Just generally happy without reason.

The two walked down the hall together.
