It had been a whole week since Brittany had been murdered by Red. Life had returned to normal for me, and my friends. However, Courtney had yet to return to school since her best friend's death.

I spent the past week getting closer to my friend. In a weird way, Brittany's death brought me closer to them. It made us all realize how short life can be, so we are going to make the absolute best of it.

I woke up for school that day and made my way downstairs.

"Hey Noah, who was here last night?" My dad questioned.

"My friend, Logan. We were studying." Ryan answered, before going back to his cereal.

"Hey family." I said, hugging my parents.

"Good morning, Madison." My mom said.

"Wow, Johnson Industries just opened another firm. They just put Tettio Law Group out of business!" My dad exclaimed.

My dad and his work talk that I never understood.

"I'm leaving for school, Mads. You coming?" Noah asked, annoyed.

"No thanks, I'd rather walk. Clear my mind." I stated.

I walked into math to find a tired Ethan, slumped over in his chair.

"Rough night? I thought you were asleep." I asked him.

"Logan and Austin had me up all last night. They came over after school, and ended up sleeping over."

"And we all know how loud they can be." I joked.

Ethan smiled.

"Besides, I have to be awake to see your beautiful face, Princess." He smirked.

"Gross." I made puking sound.

"You know you love me." He turned and looked at the board.

His jawline was chiseled, and his hair in perfect form. I stared at him, and then he turned to look at me. I jerked my head away, praying he didn't see me look at him. When I looked back, all he had done was smile down at his desk. Whatever.

Eventually, the bell rang and we ran out of the class to lunch. I got my lunch and sat at my usual table with Emma, Travis, and Ethan. Lauren had out to lunch and Austin was at a dentist appointment, and I wasn't sure where Logan was.

"Anyways, I was at Qdoba yesterday and they charged me extra for guac. Seriously?!" Emma yelled.

"Emma Carter!" A familiar voice was coming over the loud speaker.

Logan.

"The whole school should know that you are the one that I want! So, will you go to homecoming with me? Give me your answer when you ready." His voice cut.
