Chapter 4

Ezra p.o.v

Luke and I were sitting on a rock. We were watching the sunset. It was beautiful. A sunset with two suns it's better than a sunset with one sun that's sure. But nothing is better from Lothal's moons. Even though I am happy here I miss Lothal. It's my home, the place I grew up, the home of my parents. But I can't go back. Not only cause of my mission but also cause Kanan may be still there. I can't go back to him. I dissapointed him. How can I go back there and look him in the eyes? Maybe I should.

"Hey Ezra?" Luke asked

"Yeah?"

"How is the space?"

"It's beautiful. It's full of stars and unbelievable creatures are living there"

"I wish I could travel in space and see million planets and have epic adventures"

"Don't worry Luke. I'm sure you are going to have your adventure. I'm sure about that"

"Yeah right" he said sarcastically "The most adventurous thing that can happen to me is to work a my uncles farm"

"Oh come on Luke. Have a little hope. The life can surprise you"

"How do you know"

"Someone I used to know was always telling me to trust my feelings. And my feelings are telling me that you are going to have an adventure soon"

"Yeah but there is just a problem" Luke said "My uncle is never going to let me go from here"

"Don't worry Luke. The adventure may be closer than you think"

"Ezra you are something else. But now it's getting late. See you tomorrow?"

"Basically Luke, I think I am going on a trip tomorrow. There is someone that I have to meet"

"Oh OK. Tell me when you come back"

"OK. Bye Luke!"

"Bye Ezra!"

I took my speeder and went home. I opened the door and saw Chopper inside

"Hey Buddy"

"Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw"

"Yeah I'm fine. I was just thinking. Maybe we should you know meet with Kanan and the others for a few days"

"Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw"

"No Chopper I am not going to leave my mission or Luke. I am just saying that it's not a bad idea to see them again. I mean what happened two years ago was bad but I miss him Chopper. All of them"

"Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw Bwaw"

"Nice. So we are leaving tomorrow morning"

On the Gost
Hera's p.o.v

What happened on Lonnie's training yesterday shook her bad. I think that I should tell her about Ezra. It's better that way. I went to hers and Sabine's sharing room. I went inside and I saw her sitting on her bed and looking at the floor. I walked to the bed and I sat beside her. I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Hey sweetheart. Are you alright?"

"How can I? Whatever I am doing I keep disappointing Kanan"

"It's not your fault sweetheart. It's just- he has changed. He wasn't always like that. He just lost someone. We all did. A good friend but for Kanan was much more than a friend"

"What do you mean?"

"You see, you are not the first padawan that Kanan had. A boy with the name Ezra Bridger was his pabawan two years ago. But for Kanan, Ezra wasn't only a padawan, he was a son. Actually he was going to adopt him"

"Is Ezra the boy from Kanan's photo?"

"Yeah. You know there was a picture that Sabine draw at Kanan's room. It was a gift for him and Ezra. She draw it when Ezra was still on the ship. In the picture Kanan was hugging Ezra and Ezra was hugging him too and the both were laughing. But Kanan couldn't look at the picture after Ezra left so he washed it off"

"Why Ezra left?"

I signed

"After a mission Kanan got furious and he let out all his anger at Ezra. He did some terrible things to him so Ezra left and from what it seems me droid chopper was with him"

"Oh" she said sad

"Yeah. So don't blame Kanan. It's not that he doesn't like you or something. He just miss Ezra"

"Hera?"

"Yes sweetheart?"

"Thank you for telling me this"

"You are welcome. Goodnight sweetheart"

"Goodnight"

Ezra's p.o.v

We were now on the hyperspace. On a few hours we will be there. I was a little nervous. What am I going to tell him when I see him? Is he going to be happy to see me? I probably shouldn't worry so much. After all we are family.

At the gost

The others went on a supply run. Me and Kanan were on the roof of the ship and training with our lightsabers.

"Kanan?"

"Yes padawan?"

"Hera told me about Ezra and I just wanted to say that I am sorry"

He looked at me with wide eyes and then sighed

"I own you an apology. I was so depressed from what happened two years ago and I was a little hard at you. But it's not your fault. Now come on let's continue training" he said and he smiled at me. I have never seen him smile at training again.

Ezra p.o.v

We landed at my old tower. I told Chopper to wait on the ship in case the crew wasn't here. I walked at Lothal's town. So many memories coming at my mind. When I was out of the city I saw the Gost I quickly ran inside.

"Is anyone here? Kanan? Are you here? It's me Ezra? Kanan?"

Nothing

I went on his room. When I walked in he wasn't there. I then noticed that the picture with me and Kanan hugging each other was washed off.
That made me almost cry. I heared noises from the roof. I went upstairs and I opened a little the door but not fully. I didn't want to be seen. I heared laughs.
I heared Kanan laugh. But it wasn't only Kanan. It was and a girl that was laughing with him. I opened full the door to see Kanan and a girl with purple lightsaber. They had their backs on me. Then Kanan put a hand on her shoulder.

"Good job padawan"

My eyes widen. I quickly closed the door and ran out of the ship and to my tower. I found Chopper still on the ship. I fell on the floor and hugged my knees. Then I cried. He replaced me. He hates me. All these time I was missing him and I just wanted to see him again but he didn't. He found another padawan. One probably better than me. He is probably happy that I left. What was I thinking? Chopper came in the room and I explained him everything. He just sat there with me, looking me crying and with his robot hand he patted my shoulder. We went back at Datooin. I landed the ship. Just then I saw Luke coming.

"Hey Ez! How was your trip?"

I let out a sob.

"Ezra are you alright?" he asked worried.

"I-I w-went on m-y homeland t-t-to see someone *sod* t-that I used t-to ca-re d-d-deeply b-but he he hates m-m-e"
I started cry again.

"Oh Ez" Luke said and hugged me letting me cry on his shoulder.

"Shhhhhh Shhhhhh it's alright. You know that person did a terrible mistake. You know why?"

"Why?" I asked still crying.

"Cause he just lost the best friend that he could ever have"

I smiled

"Thank you Luke"

"You are welcome Ez. You are welcome"

From what it seems. Luke and Choper are my only friends now. And I'm grateful for that.
