Not Your Average

Chapter 7

I walked to the break room. I took a donut and I couldn't pass up coffee. I took a newspaper and looked at places for me to stay. I didn't want to stay with Natasha all the time. I saw a good apartment that I could afford. It looked good I walked to Fury's office. I knocked and no one answered.

"Sir?" I asked. I opened the door slightly.

"What do you think you're doing?" a voice said behind me. I jumped, he startled me.

"Sorry sir, I knocked and I didn't get an answer and I..."

"I'm not alowed to wander? After all I am the boss of people and I need to check on them."

"Sorry sir. I was wondering if I could leave early. I know that I'm new and this probably isn't good for starting a job. I just thought that if I need to start a life over I could get a little slack. I need to do things to actually have a life."

"Now with that attitude maybe no-"

"Sorry I'm stressed and I guess upset."

"Interrupting Miss Adtoms. I will let you go this once, but further into this job, you have to be fully committed. OK?"

"Yes sir." I said. I walked away, checked out and went to the apartment.

It was beautiful! I wasn't sure if I could afford it anymore! You walk through the door and there was an open space. You walk into a room and it could be the living room. I could imagine the couch and the TV. There was a window that covered the outside wall. Then what separated the two rooms was a small wall with a cut out so there could be a bar to eat at. Then where the kitchen would be. There was an island for cooking plenty of cabinet space and I could imagine having a small table. Then there would be a tiny hallway and then the luxurious, at least to me, bathroom. Plus, two amazing bedrooms!

I asked him how much it would be and I have enough, plus some for furnisher and more for my needs! It could be mine in a week if nobody else bids, which there haven't been since there's a "better" one upstairs that everyone's bidding on. I looked at that apartment upstairs and the layout just didn't agree with my mind. This was perfect! I would just have to stay at S.H.I.E.L.D for a week.
