Not Your Average

Chapter 5

I ran to S.H.I.E.L.D. I wanted to see the doctors. What's wrong with me? I checked in. I went to the lab. I wanted to know if Bruce was here yet.

"Bruce?" No one was in yet. I just sat and waited. I was worried about what might happen and what could be wrong. I waited on one of the metal beds, even though there were real beds I wanted to feel the metal. I laid down and accidentally fell asleep.

I we woke up when someone walked in. I sat up.

"Doctor, I umm?"

"Yes Karman?" Bruce said as he turned around.

"Bruce! I um..."

"I can see you're not silver anymore, I bet you're worried about it and you want me to do some tests."

"Please." I said pathetically. He drew my blood, took blood pressure, some tissue samples, and other weird sciency stuff. He asked me some questions while he was doing all of it. Finally he said he was done and the results would come later in the day.

I went to the training room and the team was there. Natasha ran up to me.

"Why'd you leave so early without telling me?" she asked.

"I had to take care of something."

"Well, look Silver isn't so silver." Tony remarked. "You know you're kind of cute that way."

"Will you keep your mouth shut unless its important!"

"He's incapable of doing that." Thor said.

"Oh look God man can make a joke, I'm out of here." Tony dug a hole and buried himself in his own ego. The only thing is that there was so much ego the hole is half way to the center of the Earth.

"Karman I have news!" Bruce walked through the door.

"What, what is it?"

"You are perfectly fine, you're powers are still there. You're skin will change from human to mineral whether you're relaxed or not. You'll learn to control that."

"Is that all?"

"No, by looking at your blood I found out where your powers come from. In your blood there are little pieces of minerals. Did you happen to be adopted?"

"Yes. My parents told me is that when I was really little I showed up on their front step covered in dirt. They said I was only two or three." I was getting anxious. Ever since I was a kid I wanted to know who my parents were, but they could never trace my parents.

"I believe the minerals in your blood are found deep inside the Earth. Down to the deepest point in the crust if not deeper. It's the same mineral Captain's shield is made out of. I have no idea what your origins are or how this could have happened. I also noticed that wherever something goes through your skin, your body reacts by turning silver and into the metal. Just look at what the needle was."

He was right. I didn't knittings that before.

"Thank you Doctor."
