Mia woke up to her phone ringing. It was too loud in the morning. Groggily, she answered her phone without looking at the caller ID. "Hello?" Mia asked as she tried to wake herself up so she wouldn't fall asleep on the phone.

"Good morning, Mia," a voice spoke through the phone. Mia was still half-asleep that she couldn't identify the voice. "Did I wake you up?" The voice asked. Mia lied and listened to them talk. "We'll be there in about 20 minutes. We're at McDonald's, do you want anything?"

Quickly, Mia removed her phone from her ear to see who was calling. Grayson's name showed up on the screen. Mia put the phone to her ear and spoke. "Yeah, can I have a sausage and egg McMuffin? I'll pay you when you get here".

"Don't worry about paying," he said. "It's on me". Mia thanked him before hanging up. She lay in bed for a while before getting up. She was still sleepy when she heard a knock on her door.

When she opened the door, she was greeted by Ethan and Grayson. They smiled at her while she stared at them unamused. "Can we come in?" Ethan asked. Mia walked into the hotel room, leaving the door open for the twins to follow her.

They placed the McDonald's on her bed and began to dish out the food. Mia sat down and ate the breakfast that the twins had kindly brought for her. "Are you going to see your family today?" Grayson asked as they ate in silence.

"I guess," Mia replied.

After they had finished eating their breakfast, Mia got up to get herself ready to see her family, who she hasn't seen in four years. She had to look presentable, so she was asking Ethan and Grayson for help on her outfit.

After a while, she finally found the perfect outfit to wear. They left the hotel and drove to Mia's house. Mia was bouncing her legs, a nervous habit, as they got closer. Once they parked outside, Mia felt like she was going to throw up.

She breathed in and got out the car. Nervous, she walked towards the front door. She stood in front of the door and breathed in before knocking. She waited a while before someone answered.

Standing before her was her mum. "Hi mum," Mia greeted her with a smile. Mrs Watson was shocked, but pulled Mia into a tight hug. Mia hugged back just as tight. She had missed her mum's hugs.

"It's so good to see you," Mrs Watson whispered in Mia's ear. "I am so sorry for everything. I should have been there for you. I should have been a better mother! I'm sorry. I am so sorry. I wish I could change what I did".

"Mum, it's fine," Mia replied. "I forgive you. I'm sorry for leaving without an explanation. I just needed to leave New Jersey. I had to find myself, and I knew I couldn't do that here. I'm sorry".

They broke apart and smiled at each other. "Come in," Mrs Watson said, pulling Mia inside, along with the twins. "Your dad would be happy to see you again!" They walked into the living room where Mia's dad sat on the couch watching football.

"Dad?" Mia spoke. Her dad turned to look at her. He jumped up and tackled her into a hug. She giggled as she hugged back. "I've missed you so much," she said with tears forming in her eyes.

"I've missed you too," her dad replied. They broke apart and smiled at each other. Mr Watson looked at Ethan and Grayson and hugged them both. "Thank you for bringing her home," he thanked them.

The Watsons and the twins spent the day talking about how much of their lives they've missed. Mia was hesitant to say, but she eventually told her parents that she didn't get her dream job. "I tried to find the best place, but no one would accept me. I now work at a bar in New York, doing night shifts. I get paid a decent amount. It's fun because I get to talk to my friends and sing. I found out that I have a passion for singing. Can you believe that?!"

"I would never have seen you singing on a stage in front of people," Mrs Watson admitted. "You have always had stage fright. And you always told me that you couldn't sing. But here you are, n love with singing in front of crowds. I'm proud of you".

Mia was shocked. Do you know how long she has waited for her mum to say that to her? It's all she's ever wanted - to make her parents proud. She felt overwhelmed and her eyes begin to blur. Quickly, she wiped her tears away.

"I love you guys," she said.

"We love you too," they said together.

Just then, the front door opened and in walked Chloe. Mia mentally sighed when she saw her sister. She knew her sister was going to ruin the moment, and possibly her entire week of being in New Jersey.

When Chloe saw Mia, her smile vanished. "Oh, didn't know you were opening your door for sluts," Chloe stated. Anger flashed across everyone's face. Mia didn't seem that bothered by it, mainly because she knew what her sister is like.

"Chloe!" Her mum yelled in anger. "How dare you speak to your sister like that! We haven't seen her in four years, and now she's finally home! And this is how you speak to her?! She has been gone for four years!"

"She should have gone longer," Chloe said with no emotion.

"Chloe!" Mr Watson yelled, furious.

"Dad," Mia said to him calmly. He looked at her. "It's fine, honestly. I don't blame her, I'd be jealous of me too". Chloe glared at her with so much hatred. Mia just gave her a sweet and innocent smile.

Chloe gave her a disgusted look before storming upstairs to her room. Mia felt proud of herself for the way she handed everything. Her parents looked at her apologetically. "Mia, we're sorry for what she said," her dad apologised.

Mia shook her head. "It's fine," she repeated. "While I was in New York, I was able to find the confidence I needed. I don't care about how people see me. I know who I am as a person. I know I am better than who I was yesterday. No one can put me down any more".

Mia spoke with her parents for a few more hours before leaving. She was standing outside talking to her parents, who were standing in the door. Ethan and Grayson had gone to the car to give them some time alone.

"I'll see you tomorrow," Mia said as she hugged them.

"We'll see you tomorrow," her mum replied.

They broke apart and Mia walked towards Ethan's car. She got in the back seats and waited for Ethan to drive back to her hotel. As they drove away, Mia waved to her parents. Her parents waved back before closing the front door.
