Chapter 10

Once again, Mia woke up to her phone ringing in her ear. Sleepily, she checked the caller ID: Grayson. Answering the phone, her voice sounded like a croak. "Hello?" Her morning voice spoke through the phone.

"Did I wake you up?" He asked.

"Kinda," she admitted. "But it's fine. I needed to get up anyway".

"Okay," Grayson said. "I was just calling to tell you that Ethan and I are on our way to pick you up. I wanted to give you a heads up. Maybe you should get out of bed and get ready before we arrive? Then we wouldn't have to wait an hour for you to get dressed".

"I don't take an hour!" Mia exclaimed.

Grayson chuckled. "Sure you don't. We'll be there in 10," he said before hanging up. Mia sighed and got out of bed. She opened her suitcase and grabbed an outfit for the day. It wasn't long until she was leaving the bathroom and there was a knock on the door.

She opened the door and smiled at Ethan and Grayson. "Took your time, didn't you?" She asked, playfully. She walked out her hotel room, closing the door, and followed them to the car. As they got close to the car, Mia yelled, "Shot gun!"

Grayson groaned as he made his way to the back seats. Mia laughed and joined Ethan in the front. They were singing along to Grayson's playlist as they went to the skate park. They were listening to Grayson's music because he was sulking in the back seats.

When they arrived at the park, Grayson gave Mia a spare skate board and grabbed his own. The three of them skated to the ramps and began to do stunts and tricks. The boys were shocked that Mia still knew how to skate.

It wasn't long until they were getting hungry. Ethan was driving them to a place to eat. Mia was looking out the windows of the back seats, Grayson had called "shot gun" "her. Mia noticed that Ethan was driving past pizza places.

She frowned and looked at him. "Ethan? You just drove past pizza places," she stated. "Where are you taking us?" He smiled at her through the rear view mirror, which confused her even more.

"You'll see," he smirked.

Mia continued to look out the window to see where he was taking her. It took her a while to realise that he was taking her home. But why? They parked outside her house and began to get out the car.

Mia followed the twins to the house. They opened the door and led Mia through the house to the backyard. When they opened the back door, they were greeted by Mia's family and the Dolans. Mia was confused as to why they were here.

"Welcome home!" They all yelled.

Mia didn't know how to react. She looked at the twins, who were smiling at her. "You knew about this?" She asked them. They smiled even more. "That's why we went to the park, isn't it? And why you were skipping the pizza places!"

The twins laughed at her, but led her further into the backyard. Mia looked around at all the people and noticed Chloe wasn't present. She was glad Chloe wasn't there, otherwise, they would have an argument and Mia might fight her.

Mia was talking to everyone about how she's been the past four years while she was eating food from the buffet. It was great to talk to people she hasn't seen in a while. Just as she thought everything was going great, the back door slammed shut.

Everyone turned to see Chloe standing in the backyard. She looked angry. Chloe scanned the yard for someone. Once she laid her eyes on Mia, she stormed towards her. Mia turned to face her with confidence.

"Are you fucking serious?!" Chloe yelled as she got closer to Mia. Everyone was watching carefully. "You've been gone for four years, and people are acting like they haven't seen you their entire life! It's pathetic"

"Like you?" Mia asked calmly. Chloe glared at her. "Haven't you got anything better to do than ruin everyone's day? You have always hated me, ever since I was born. Why? What did I ever do to you that was so bad?"

"What haven't you done?!" Chloe yelled. "You haven always been mum's and dad's favourite child! They have always preferred you over me! They have always been there for you, and not for me!"

That made Mia angry. "Always there for me?!" She asked in shock. "Where were they when I was getting bullied at school? Where were they when I was crying myself to sleep every night? Where were they when I started to starve myself? Where were they when I hated the way I looked? Where were they when I wanted everything to end? Where were they when I began to harm myself? Where were they when I tried to kill myself? Where were they when I needed them? They were with you! They have always been with you! It's not my fault you're ungrateful for everything they've done for you!"

"You're such a selfish bitch!" Chloe spat as she tackled Mia to the ground. Everyone was shocked, but didn't know how to stop it. Mia flipped them over so she was pinning Chloe to the ground. "I hate you!" Chloe screamed.

Mia punched her across the face. Everyone froze. Chloe was stunned and stopped fighting Mia. Mia stood up and looked down at Chloe. "I will not let you push me around and walk over me like I'm nothing. I have lived my entire life like that, and I will not tolerate it any more".

Mia turned around and walked away from Chloe. Everyone watched as Mia walked away. Ethan and Grayson were the first to move. They followed Mia inside the house to see if she was okay. The fight she had just had with Chloe was very intense.
